I've yet to find a YT clip that I find actually representative when I actually get the instrument in my hands.
Both 74 and 64 share same preamp, in active mode, I raise the bass knob a little bit and dial back the treble around 30%, tone just full sounding without too bright.
Raise both knobs she dial back the Mid , work alike Stingray 2 band preamp.
The greatness on this preamp are hiss free even treble knob wide open.
The Dunlop SBN able make my GB74JJ sound warmth and tame the brightest after couple months usage. I believe DR Sunbeam give you instant results you looking for ~ tame brightness.

Hey guys - great thread - still reading through it. I am really considering getting an Action Junior, as I love the look and after reading some info on here sounds like it is a solid bass. I am just wondering about the electronics at this price range - website says it has a Powersound PSDXH1-4 pickup - how does this pickup fair? Is it as good as any after market or higher model one? Or is it a weak point that you recommend changing for definite?
I've played Cort Action Junior in a music store couple of years ago. It's a cheap entry level bass. It could be nice though having a decent setup. The pickup sounds accordingly, i.e. it does the job but not much more. YMMV.
I've played Cort Action PJ for almost 10 years. Sound was passable. All other things (weight, ergonomics, quality, reliability) were nearly perfect.
Actually it's easier to change the strings. TI Jazz Flats work very nicelyIt was much easier to change the whole bass.

Greetings to cort owners. I am in need of help from cort c4/b4/a4 owners. I have come in posetion of cheap fretless (yamaha bbn) and thinking of changing pickups, and maybe adding preamp. Question is, what are pickup placement measurments, distance of centre part of the pickups from the nut? Thank you in advance.
