By the way, there is also an Access Stage 3 double gig bag. It is identical to the single bag except there is room for two and each bass compartment is accessible by its own zipper and it has two side handles instead of one.

I am not affiliated with the company, but have dealt with them directly and can attest their excellent customer service. I liked the single bag enough that I also bought the double bag. While not perfect, they met most of the criteria as I indicated in this thread: Your Ultimate Gig Bag

On the Fusion, one of the bass zippers is on the far side, meaning as you carry it, it can open such that the bass can fall out. Probably won't happen, but it's a thing to me.

Having seen the interior of the iGig on here, I'm not a fan. too much juju in there.

I have a single ProGo and like it a lot. If me, I'd get the gator.

Keen to know this too. The Gig Blade 2 will hopefully be in shops soon.
Part of me thinks with the Gig Blade, if I'm not going with traditional backpack style I might as well get a Hiscox as I can't see me lugging my 2x12 with the Gruvgear over one shoulder very easily.

I'm really considering the Mono M80 but am just aware of the Nitro finish (possible) issues as I would store the bass in there 100% of the time it's not being used.

I fancy trying something new, but really I think it's either another Fusion Urban or I'll get a Hiscox and a cheap bag for use when needed.

I think I'm leaning toward purchasing either a Fusion or RB Continental. Since my criteria is maximizing protection it seems these two are at the top. I'm not looking for tons of pockets (though the Fusion seems strong here too). I'm also intrigued by the GigBlade based on how you carry it but I wish I could yet it.

Thing that made me not try one is it's not waterproof- you need to slide on a separate weather cover. The Monos are waterproof/resistant, which is important around here as it can rain at any given time. Very cool idea though.

The M80s and the Vertigo. The material is completely waterproof. They used to have a saying on each of their pages that you can "take it in the shower with you." They probably had to take that down for legal reasons as the zipper on any waterproof item can let water in if you're not careful. Mine have safely gotten through several downpours and snow to and from the car.

Funny thing is the Gigblade looks like it's made from a waterproof material as well- I wonder if there's just a lot of zippered areas or spots using other material that require the use of a weather cover.

Great thread, and kudos to Chris for starting it and keeping it on track!

Question for all Fusion Urban owners: what's the interior length, with and without the extra padding installed. My Alembic measures 47" so I'm reluctant to completely trust what the website says (and it doesn't specify with or without pad).

I can vouch for the fact that if not actually waterproof, the Mono bags are close enough to it to make no difference. I have used my Vertigo in some pretty vile downpours, and my bass has stayed bone dry.

I'm in the same boat with the same question for my Gould bass. FYI the gator progo says its 47" interior and my bass fits that no problem. I'm having a guy at a shop get me an actual measurement. Will update

I do see a couple M80 dual bass cases in the classified that I'd love to take a look at though...

Interior length of the Fusion is 47" without the insert and 45.5" with.
Interior width at the largest bout is 17" without the insert and 14" with.

For both measurements, I made the assumption that the insert is installed in the most practical way to add protection around the body of the bass.

Thanks for the info on that, hmm might have to go a different way then dang. My new baby is a bit long maybe for that one...

edit: oops looks like I measured wrong the first time around looks like the bass is about 45.5" not including the bottom button, so maybe it would just go. Which is what you kinda want right?
