The Doom Metal Bassist Thread

Anyone here use a fretless? They sound pretty badass if your using them in some Psychadelic or Stonery stuff. Also does anyone know any Doom bands with bass players that use fretless basses? I remember finding a couple bands with double basses, they werent that audible though.

Wormwood: Link Removed, though it seems like the fretless has little effect on the ambience. :hmm:

That's what I'm doing with my solo project'ish thing though, lots of fretless bass and lots of distortion. Fretless + sliding chords + fuzz / distortion = epic win. :bassist:

Any fans of Funeral Doom here?
I love Skepticism, but that's really the only band I know from that subsubsubsubgenre. I regularly list a bunch of doom/stoner bands for people to check out 'round here, but my favourites are probably Electric Wizard, Ufomammut, and Acid Bath. Of course I've also worshipped Black Sabbath for as long as I can remember, how can any fan of doom not love the inventors of the genre?

Also, hi. I'm hoping to work more on my solo doom project this year because I have ignored it for quite some time, and last I was not doing just that it began to lose focus from the main goal: The Riff.

I thought about turning it into a band, but I don't really know any doom type drummers, and I already have two gigging bands as it is, so therefore lack the time anyhow. Maybe some day.

I recently went on a Doom spending spree( which is odd since us Doomy folk are quite poor) and picked up some great Doom and Stoner albums.
Broken Glass-Crowbar(gotta relisten to this as i dont remember most of it)
Witchcult Today-Electric Wizard, this thing is godly except for the stupid ambient song.
Keeper of the Seven Keys part 1-Helloween, not Doom in the slightest but it kicks ass.
Iron Will-Grand Magus, Hard rocking Heavy/Doom Metal
Surrounded by Thieves- High on Fire, really good album. Reminds me of Motorhead.
