Trouble is Rod, it was both channels that were doing it. It's unlikely that both pre-amp tubes have gone, but I guess stranger things have happened.

Trouble is Rod, it was both channels that were doing it. It's unlikely that both pre-amp tubes have gone, but I guess stranger things have happened.
I forgot to mention that I've recently replaced all the preamp tubes. I'm going to check now though.

Question:
As far as hooking effects up to your SB300, do you guys:
a) plug them into the front of the amp?
or
b) use the PreAmp Out / Power Amp In sockets as an effects in/out and plug your pedals in there?
So far I've just been plugging mine in through the front input jack/s. Works fine.
Is there any advantage to using the "effects loop"?

I've almost never used fx loops. I've gone in the front way (said the actress to the bishop) always

Thanks guys. Still got some playing and experimenting to do, but an excellent first outing. Sadly next weeks gigs are interstate with backline provided, but the weekend after I have multiple gigs in bigger rooms again.
Running the Aguilar Agro into an already overdriven channel 2 made for some interesting synthy type industrial overdriven tones - I want to explore this further. I haven't even played my Fralin equipped P bass into this rig yet - hanging out to do that!!
I love me Ampeg tube amps. LOVE the VR & was gonna get one up until a reliable TB'er suggested I check out the new ( - at the time ) Fender Super Bassman. Luckily, my local store is a Fender dealer, and they agreed to get one in. From the 1st note I was hooked. Had /has all the lush tubey goodness of the VR but with another channel. ..And, here at least. ...It was $1k cheaper.

Loving the SB300 more after more tweaking and getting more used to how it works. Loving my NV412, but I want to know: who has directly compared the NV412 and the Fender Bassman 610 Neo? I love the NV412, but I have no doubt the 610 is amazing also. Interested to hear observations. I know @Tim1 and a couple of others have compared the NV610 and Bassman 610 Neo, but to me the NV412 and NV610 are very different - so it is hard to use the NV610/610 neo comparison to get an understanding of the differences.
I originally starting wanting a SB300 after owning a Sunn 1200s - what a great amp. So ridiculously powerful. I ended up selling it because it was just too massive volume wise for some of the rooms I was playing. But the the controls of the SB300 are based on these Sunn amps, and the all Tube version also.
I am considering picking up a Fender Bassman 410 Neo for smaller gigs. After the NV412 will I feel like it doesn't compare? I know the 410 Neos are good, but am I going to be satisfied?
I have started a little project to make a Fascia for my NV412 with Fender Grill cloth - I started making the foundations of it today. Hoping I will have it ready to go when the Fender Grill cloth arrives from the USA. Pretty sure it's going to look killer!

Has anyone had any luck with running odd impedances with the FSB 300? Would love to add a third 15 to my current setup, but it doesn't seem clear how to hook up for 2.67 ohms with the separate output jacks.
EDIT: Nm, RTFM. Run two off main for 4 ohms and the third 8 ohm off extension. Set impedance switch to 4 ohms.
