The Great Bass Preamp/DI Comparison

That's it, just like this one ? * Iso 2 1300 mA output, dip-switched to 12VDC, on the pic.

I reckon I asked about this before and Scuba answered, but I can't find the post. Not sure if it was in here or the Compressor thread. Anyway - I think he said a Cioks 7 with the link cable to combine 2 outputs, but you would also need a polarity changer also. Looking at the Cioks, that would give you exactly 1A at 12VDC.

Hoping there are other Pedal board options for the LA-1A because the Cioks DC-7 is pretty expensive. Not that it isn't worth it because it is a pretty awesome power supply.

That's what I use with my LA-1A...works fine. Don't forget the polarity changer....the Cioks one is clearly marked with a red jack which acts as a useful visual cue for me...I expect frying an LA-1A would be an expensive repair job....

I thought that too, but I love the CIOKS now that I have it.
Pedal board - $65
TU-2 - $99
CIOKS DC-7 - $229
LA-1A - $460
Piece of mind, future expansion ability and plugging in 1 cord...priceless.

Use a CUOKS parallel cable off two ports at 12 volts with red center positive flex cable and you are good to go.

@1983L2000 Yep, the Union Lab has a nice feel to it and sounds great.
No worries, the LA-1A is sexy and I'm simply jealous... The LAB is great actually, I love it, no regrets. I just feel I need to be a bit careful with the B string as it seems to trigger compression a bit more than I'd want, although it's always musical (or who knows, maybe it's the led light playing tricks with my brain).

So I resisted the LA-1A and got a Union T&T Lab instead... cheaper, better form factor, simpler power requirements, also Scuba-approved, and I had "enough tubes" with the Jule Monique. I guess not then :)

Nice rig!

Im actually looking at the Lab vs PC-2A. Similar form factors. I love my Photon Death Ray..just want to expand my horizons.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the LAB?

This is where I was and ultimately went LAB because of what @scubaduba said below regarding power.

I still would like to check out the PC-2A, (and Photon, too), and would like to read your impressions if you go that away.
