I believe that is what blew one of my Eden heads when I plugged the DI out into a board. Now I only connect via a preamp DI, too gun-shy otherwise.

New Nux in the house. I was able to update the firmware but it is not recognized by the preamp software editor. I tried all the suggestions that pop up on the screen but no luck. Did I read somewhere in this thread that an older firmware version needs to be installed first? Any help would be appreciated.

Yep. You have to install ver1.2.7 first then v2.0. IM me your email and I'll send you the file. Paying it forward as it was sent to me.

Thanks. JKos sent it to me. The weird thing is after doing the firmware 1.2 then 2.0 the pedal seem to work with the editor but still says disconnected at the top. Turn knobs on the pedal they turn on the editor. Flip an IR switch it turns on and off in the editor, etc. Weird.

Cool!

I just wish it would save the power off state so I don't have to turn it on every time I power up my board.

I like the eq "bypass" option. Lots of nice specs. Never heard of it or the company. $799 ain't cheap. It's pretty long, may not be board friendly. I'd be interested to hear about any real world experience.

The length isn't a "deal breaker" for me as I am considering a REDDI or P-15 (if they were ever available) but if one wanted everything attached to their board, this one would require a bit larger board than some may want.
I have my "essentials on a Nano. TU-2, Rolls PM50s (for my IEM's) and LA-1A. A DC-7 is mounted underneath for power. I wouldn't be opposed to my tube DI/Pre being a separate box. They usually need their own power anyway.

I'd do the same. Apart from the dedicated power supply thing (which can be annoying for some people), I see the advantage of choosing which preamp to carry for the situation and you can combine it with your essentials.
If your essentials (tuner, IEM, comp) are always with you and/or you use always the same preamp, I strongly suggest to get a bigger board in order to have anything you need. It's way more practical.
Personally, I tend to treat effects like a separate "module", so I don't have essential pedals in my board. I often play with just a clip on tuner and a preamp, so that's my "essential".

Got a reply back from tech support for the issue with the NuX and phantom power. Here's the response:
