The Great Bass Preamp/DI Comparison

Been a while since I've snagged any pedals from you...LOL If you need to liquidate some stuff (Broughtons, etc) to fund the Oracle and LA-1A, hit me up! :)

(DIBS)
We'll see. I'm almost there. Almost. But I JUST got the Silver Deluxe and really like it. I'm not sure I'm ready to cash in the few Broughtons I have. But I'm sure I'll have no problem doing it once I am.

I've got a Nux MLD on loan from a friend. Currently got it plugged into the front end of my Quilter BB800. First impression is that it has lots of usable tones. The Drive is nice, but I was really hoping I could set it so I can switch the drive on and off without needing a drive pedal, but I think the volume jump is too significant. Not as bad as kicking in the AGS on a THDI, but enough. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I'd like a P-15 for after my LA-1A.
+1, after listening to Scuba's clips...P-15 got my vote. The Noble and Oracle sound really nice, too...but the P-15 is the only one I'd personally spend money on, IF I was needing another preamp. (I'm very covered in preamps though...)

But, I do see that being a nice solution to your needs, given your current board situation.:)

I have to wonder though...how we're beginning to entertain some of these larger "lunchbox" style pre/DI units into the mix, because for certain we can be down a dangerous (albeit fun!) rabbit hole that includes some very nice preamps that are more suited for desktop/studio use. But as I see it, the following all have merit if you're already considering carrying a REDDI or P15. No EQ, but they cost what a Noble would.
