IMHO, chrome domes aren't quite right.

Ric knobs or JB knobs i think would work better

It's done. Had a little last minute fun with the electronics, thought I had a dead neck pup, turned out to be a bad solder joint. Thank god, Son #2 graduates June 22!

So ends (probably) my Ric Clone building career. It's been a great experience. Perfection NOT achieved, but I'm pretty proud of them, flaws and all. May be a while before I get another build going, have to finish a few furniture projects gathering dust, but I'm officially addicted. At least a couple more builds in the planning stages. Thanks All for advice and support.

Don’t rush me @Rôckhewer! These things take years of cogitation and procrastination! Followed by abject sloth, punctuated by frenzied bouts of activity. Alembic Clone next, gotta draw it up in Autocad first, I might go medium scale as my Arthritic Old Fart Bass. Long scale getting hard on my increasingly stiff left hand. We’ll see. Thinking full cocobolo faced hippie sandwich, your specialty!

Agreed! I would say this one is aesthetically superior to any Rick I've seen in pretty much every way IMO- if only 4004 models looked that classy. I love my 4004, even aesthetically, but it really doesn't compare to this (though the forearm contour is a big plus for me, I'd suck it up to play this one).

Both of those basses look amazing. Love the checkered binding on the black one, and the new one is gorgeous all around!
