Have u tried the jext telez unidrive bass? It has the hamburger transistor...……….very good.....

When I was hankering for a third DizzyTone, they had new big box versions of V6 and V7 in stock. I asked Bob which he recommended for bass and he thought the V6 had a small advantage in low freq response. This doesn't mean that V7 won't be great, I've never played one. V5 is definitely killer on bass.
@jbybj Are you still pretty happy with your Black Drone Wasp? I'm thinking about picking one up, but have yet to hear one on bass. Any further thoughts on it? Any chance of a demo? Any input is much appreciated.
No likely demo in the near future. To many things in queue.
First, my bias. I love dirt, so I'm more forgiving than some in my views. Also, I'm a self acknowledged Jext Telez fanboy.
I don't possess a finely tuned reference to different classic circuits, so I can't say "it learns more towards a Muff than a Fuzz Face".
The Black Drone Wasp does tend towards a more "organic" fuzz sound, as opposed to a synthy gated device. It is not inherently scooped, and the controls don't facilitate a scooped EQ.
It is HIGH GAIN, by that I mean ITS FRCKING LOUD.
With sustain down all the way, unity is achieved by barely bringing the volume above full off, .7 on a scale of 1-10. If I took a wild guess, I'd say you have maybe 40db of gain at your disposal.
On the same scale, the range of fuzz from 0-10 on the sustain pot, compares with most pedals range from 8-12.
I love it. There is no place for it in my current band but it stays, because it makes me happy, when I'm home alone, and my self respect is fading.
Can someone describe the Uni - Drive sound on bass? There aren't any demos and I'm super curious! Need some JT on my board! Thanks!

it's made to sound like the Vox UL730 amp that they used in the studio, and IMO it does a nice job of capturing it. IMO, the Invalid Link Removed does it really well too.
I've been looking into modern pedals that can cop the fuzz sound of the 60's garage, proto punk sound. Think Sonics, Shadows of Knight, Music Machine.
Found one that does it real well, but they're hard to come by...

ok friends. Let's talk dizzy tone. I have a triple black V5. I bought it because so many people rave about the massive low end. I think it's the best sounding fuzz as far as how it breaks up and reacts. Love it! But...
WHERE IS THE LOW END?!?!?!
I'm wondering if maybe something is wrong. Sounds like it's high passed at like 300hz or so. I wonder if it's just the voice of it? The mids are so pumped it seems like there are no lows? Is this normal with the triple black V5? Or dizzy in general? To help out with this description I have a buzz tone and hamburger unidrive and I'd describe those with massive low end compared to my dizzy V5. Normal? Hmmm
I came across someone saying the V4 is great on bass and leans more toward a muff. I'm down with that. But... do I take a chance it will have big lows like a muff? Or will I be bummed again? Thanks friends!

What is your rig like? I never have any problems producing large bass frequency from my triple black but I also play through all tube amps and large speaker cabinets
I have raved about the V5 DizzyTone for years. It is reportedly the best version for bass. I have never considered it to have massive low end, but rather mostly neutral with respect to low frequency attenuation. If you feel like there's a 300 Hz hi pass going on, something's afoot. In the pedal or your chain.
I've tried it by its self and with battery and different cables and all. Hmm maybe I'll have to send it in. I play passive p basses. Usually don't do anything wild to my tone either. So no weird EQ or anything. I got a blend pedal for it but hated the mix. Lost all the punch.
