I would definitely agree with that. I guess I would know since you ended up with my 19mm. I think we both quickly decided that neck was a beast!
I am trying to remember back to my BSR MW. Maybe Ken does a thinner neck profile across the board on the bolt on models. The back also flattens out a lot as you hit the 10th/11th fret or so.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE the 19mm. I picked it up fron Sean last December and it's been my main bass ever since! The neck profile just fits my hand nicely and the tone is nice and aggressive. My previous GN sounded a just a little too warm overall.

Your GN was right up my alley, but I just sold it
I still have my Smith BSR5J-MW though, I'll be hanging on to that one.
Nice bass and sound clip. Looks like you're using Ken Smith Strings, which is the way to go IMHO. I've tried other brands, but I keep coming back to Smith Strings!

Perhaps you are confusing the build process between the imported KSD line and the USA made lines? The KSD basses are mass-produced. The USA basses undergo a final inspection by Ken, but he rarely (if at all) does and start-to-finish building himself anymore.I've heard that all KS basses are made by mostly automated process ,and some handmade process done by other crews not KS himself.
But also from the KS website, it's 100% handmade instrument. Which is the truth here? I personally can't believe that this kind of build quality can be done by automated process ,but I've heard from someone actually visited KS's factory this year. So confused now. Anybody has any idea about this? well actually I love KS basses so it could be not a big deal ,but want to know about my baby as much as possible.
