Hey guys one more question : I'm on the verger of getting a Smith, I'm just torn between the tiger maple BSR Elite and a White tiger elite..from my understanding the only difference is the grade of the top, and seeing that I want the 7 piece neck the price between the two models would be significant. I know the white tiger top would be really nice, but do you think id be disappointed with the top from the BSR Elite? Should I really just fork over the extra money for a really nice top?

I've owned both, I can tell you both had nice tops, but the tiger maple had a crazy flame. One thing that I feel is that more neck and body layers leads to a more compressed tone, and maybe more articulation (maybe). If you go for a new bsr, you should be able to pick your top, and with a used one pics should help you. I personally liked my bsr elite the best from a tone perspective.

Not for nothing, I have a Black Tiger 5 that I purchased in 2006. I will NEVER get rid of that bass. It literally sounds better as it gets older.
