Definitely does in different situations, play it in church sometimes, done a bunch of recording with it too.
Careful...Krappys can be habit forming.
It started out slow, I took my Krappy Traveller 4 string to a gig, then later another and next thing you know I'm using it on every gig exclusively. Last weekend I left the Krappy home and went cold-turkey using another bass on a gig and found myself jonesin' for the Krappy.
They should put a Surgeon General's warning label on those things.
Haha, sounds like 280 bucks well spent! I'm sure I will be using my other basses just as much. I bought to replace my upright (sorta) at some gigs so I don't have to lug the thing around or worry about EQ. Plus it looked super fun! Which it is! But I don't think it is possible to replace my main axe with a twiggy. Waaaay too different of sounds and feels.
I use my Traveler (30" scale) in the upright position mounted on the stand from my Steinberger CR4M.
I've also modded the Traveler slightly by substituting my DIY maple stick bridge for the stock metal rod. Though it doesn't sound exactly the same, with the Traveler strung with Labella nylon "Beatle Bass" tapewounds I've found I don't really miss using my CR4M or my upright for my current gigs.

Just found this thread, I got my custom Krappy 2 string just the other day. It came out far better than the $140 price tag made me think it would. Kevin makes nice stuff.

You can hear it on the song "Czerwony pas" (krappy kover of a Polish folk song) at Link Removed - it's the distorted track. I think I used the three-string neck.

For folks who've had a punk bass...has not having a truss rod been an impediment? I hear battles on both sides of the TR. Just curious.
I have two 2-string Karappy basses. No neck problems at all.
Two strings only puts half as much strain on the neck, perhaps ? Also, both necks were made little thicker than on a typical commercial bass neck, I think.
"Commercial Bass" !! Ha ! I don't even own one anymore. Proud to say I play Krappy basses exclusively (* I got 3 * )
Thanks Joe...I'm sold on Krappy for my next instrument...while I like the Ibanez I picked up...I'm drawn to custom made instruments more than commercial (I had two stick dulcimers made...love seeing real craftsman's work).
I'm still torn between a two-string punk or a 4-string Twiggy Touchstyle. Kevin quoted me a good price for the Twiggy tapper...just trying to figure out what will be easiest for this rank novice to play stuff that sounds good.
I will be in touch with you about this beginning of next year .. I have several ideas bouncin' around in the old corn popper.
Although it is true that I do not currently own a commercial bass, per se - I do have a commercial bass body. One idea is a custom-made bolt-on Krappy neck for it, if that is something you could do. Of course, I realize that might only qualify me for a haiku.
