After 40 years of being a Lone Wolf, my status will be briefly interrupted as my old bandmate and I are going to play for our 40th high school reunion. It has been interesting as we used dropbox to send recordings back and forth to each other. Since we live 1000 miles from each other we won't have a chance to rehearse with each other in person. This should be interesting, to say the least. Certainly a Lone wolf style of preparing for an evening. When we were last playing the technology was dropping the needle on the record over and over again while we picked everything out by ear. Now we use the internet. Anyone else used this method of preparing? I am a bit nervous at no rehearsals in person, but I think it will be OK.

Congrats you are going to do great I wish I could be there cheering you on don't forget to yell "Lone Wolf" in the mic right after you finish.

I love to go into small Ma & Pa shop's and discover new basses that you would never expect to find in a shop like that. It's like Christmas.... I am a Lone Wolf!

My Craigslist ad is still up, but I don't think it'll ever come to anything. I'll get an email reply expressing interest, then when I try to set up a time & place to meet/audition/jam, I get crickets. Looks like solo recording is in my future...

I get it, however: I was in a Union, once, and I called it "A
Loose Assortment of Collected Bus Drivers. So consider us to be lot of bass playing loners (ie: not playing in a band, etc.) clumped together.

Im a lone wolf.....have lots of friends that are in bands and I decided 30 yrs ago that I didn't want to ever have to put up with the crap of being in a band. I enjoy taking lessons on the slab and the upright and studying theory.....all the bass players that I know who are in bands now call me up when they cant figure out a song ...cause I can read music and understand theory.Last week I went to watch a drummer friend play with his band and they had no bass player,used a keyboard player,anyhow the guitar player came up to me and said "Hey I hear your a musician " I replied that I play clarinet call me if you need one..hahaha

I use to be so hung up on having to be in a band ..

Am enjoying being free of that hang up

I practice and play my bass just about every day

Enjoying having time to go over really basic things and feeling everything getting stronger

Musical horizons opening up

Time on forum and cuddling with the Mrs on cold nights

Yep bands are great, but life as a lone wolf certainly has its benefits
