While I have nothing to add to the thread, I did check out Fist Fite's website, and your music is very cool. What overdrive are you using in "Raven of the Night"?

Maybe a traynor tube amp, nice n light weight for a one man lift, tho only 200 watts
tho I dont know if those things are loud enough, an ampeg 300watt tube amp is surely loud enough
maybe solid state aint your thing if you like dirty bass, with my 300watt ampeg tube amp I never get past 30% on the master before it starts hurting my temples

actually, for that recording, i was using the green (russian) big muff, and that's it.

I'm DEFINITELY planning on a tube amp. it's my next purchase.

best pedal for bass ever (that i've come across at least). get one if you can. GOTTA be the green russian vintage though. there's a difference in tone between the various models for sure.

$285 for a Russian Big Muff??? You have got to be kidding me! I remember when they first came out and sold for like $70 or something similar. And everyone said how inferior they were to the originals. And now they're collector's items??? I must have stepped into the Bizarro World.

i'll admit, I'm not everyone.
but I've played through four different versions of the big muff, and the green is the BEST for bass by far.
it maintained the low end a lot better than the other models. not as bright of crunch as the silver, not as muddy as the black. GOLDIELOCKS!

That's true...you are definitely not everyone 
But when that model came out, nobody used Big Muffs on bass because they were extremely bright and intense for bass. So the guitarists are the ones who pronounced it as inferior for bass. I've never tried a Big Muff on bass, but I totally agreed with the guitarists back then.

Honestly, I've been experimenting with using an all-tube guitar combo amp as a distortion box, by cutting the lows and splitting the signal with a dry bass rig. This is the way to do it.
Sure but If U gig on stages that aren't big enough for Me/U to have two amps onstage, the green Big muff is A ripper for bass!!! I use mine every gig!!!
Of course you can still go the pedal route, but you need to have the ability to blend in dry signal or you lose low end.
the russian muff cuts very little low end. that's why it's the desirable one.

the muff can also steal some punch off the top depending on your settings.
my set up now includes the sansamp driver, the fulltone (which I just got), and the green muff (when i get it back). they'll never all be on at the same time, that would just be ********.

+1 I find I lose very little ass end when using the green big muff! I switch it on , on the Larry Graham stuff we do & it RAWKS, & loses VERY little bottom, when adjusted right!

Ahhh I used to have the svt350h... I remember how it sounded clipped... not pretty 
. You're going to love a high-powered tube head when you get it. I'd say check out the main rock staples: Ampeg and Mesa. Both sound very different from each other, but very good.
