If I have any nitpick about the Mike Lull experience, it has nothing to do with the bass itself, but the gig bag by Protec that has the Mike Lull logo on it is just decent. Perhaps they have a more deluxe bag as an option but compared to the F Bass bag, and even the Serek bags they seem to be a bit lacking for an instrument of this caliber. Again, incredible bass, no issues there, but the bag I received is a bit meh. 
Maybe this is an old style bag? It doesn't look to be the Protec Contego which appears to be nicer.

Seems like there are two models. This one which is just OK and the Contego which is much nicer.
I don't know if the bags have changed since I got mine in 2012, but the one I have (a Protec) offers only slightly more protection than a burlap sack and never gets used. LOL, I was trying to be nice about it, but I think you're right. Brand new these basses are now selling for over $5,000 and I think they deserve a more protective bag than what came with mine. My bass is from late 2021, so maybe there's been an upgrade since then.

When I bought my Lull these basses cost half what they do now, so I didn't let myself get upset over the bag. But now that Lull is basically in the same echelon as Sadowsky pricewise, the bags should, I think, be comparable to what Sadowsky offers as standard.

It's just an obvious area they could improve, if they're still sending these very expensive basses out in a lackluster bag.
Okay, gotcha! I think I have seen those before.
I have the Contego which is very nice although it mainly just sits at home and provides storage protection.
I like to have some padding at the bottom of the bag so when I rest it on the ground the bottom strap button doesn't get pushed up into the bass and damage it.
The Contego is an awesome bag. I picked one up last year and very happy with the protection it offers.
agree with all everyone has said. I've just come to accept that if I'm going to be gigging my Lull, it's going out of the house in my Sadowsky portabag that I have kept for years for this very reason.
Spencer has been talking with a company (not sure who) about gigbags for the P and J430 short-scales but told me it has been/continues to be a long process...

The RBX by reunion blues bags I find are holding up just as good as mono and are slightly less expensive.
The RBX is slightly more compact than mono, yet holds a 35" scale instrument with no issue.

My new Stingray Special came with a very nice Mono soft case. Unfortunately, that case had no backstraps nor provisions for any.
That was a dealbreaker for me. I was able to sell the MM-stenciled soft case to another Stingray owner and ordered a ProTec Contega case for that Stingray.
What's funny is that my Mono Dual Bass case does have backstraps.
I had one for years. I wish they would make a dual Vertigo or rerelease the double bag with some kind of boot on the bottom for more protection.
