Hey guys, curious if anyone might be interested in a neck swap? this is a 3 month old Lull with a ebony board and blocks, and Im interested in a maple board. Would love to find an equally minty maple neck and board. Anyone interested by chance?

Nice bass. I started to really like ebony on fretted basses. My J5 is maple, but not near mint at all. I really should send it to Spencer to be refinished.
I know there have been several 34" Lull P5s posted. I'm curious how the B string compares to the 35" scale on the Lull P5. I've played a few 34" basses with great B strings. I even had a 33" Drozd 6er that had a killer B.
But, the B string on my 'standard' spec Lull P5 is the gold standard. I'm not really in a place to commission a custom Lull. But, it's fun to think and plan. If I ever did, I would probably go with the 34" scale, so any opinions are appreciated.

I'm equally excited about how many 34" 5ers I've seen Lull kick out recently.
I don't know man, yeah first position can be a stretch but having a quality B is what sold me on the Lull 35" scale. So much so that I recently sold my last Dingwall that I said I never would because the B was so great. I have had countless high end 34" scale basses with terrible B strings, I'm done with 34" fivers. YMMV
I still prefer a 35" scale for a fiver. I have a few outstanding 34" scale 5 stringers and a 34.5" (Fbass), but 35" is what I prefer. Not just the tone but the tension that I like.
Either way......being a Lull, it will be excellent.
Spencer offers a B string "thru-body" option for 34" 5vers, with the A bridge spec. Depending on string choice, I'll top load or utilize the "thru-body" option. His top-loaded 34" B is fantastic imo though…
My quest for a great B string led me all over the place. Sometimes playing basses that I didn't love tonally, but the B string was chefs kiss. The Lull P5 did it all. Great tone. Great B string. And the balance between all the strings was what blew me away. So many times, it's like 'wow, this bass sounds grea....ohh...nevermind. The B is too floppy.'
I also have an AV P5 (Ales Vychodil). It has a 34" scale and the B string is really nice. It's a great bass, but not on the level of Lull craftsmanship and tone. But, it's fun to play. Maybe it's just GAS, but lately I've been thinking about a 34" scale Lull P5. I moved to electric from upright and use Simandl (1-2-4) fingering, so the stretch isn't bad. It's probably some subconscious thing where I haven't commissioned a bass in a long time and I don't know what to do with myself.
But, if everyone was like 'yeah, the 34" Lulls are amazing, I would be in trouble.'

I love that color. I actually have an M5V that is 35" scale with the thru-body B string and the A-style bridge. That bass gets XL-scale strings. The B is really nice.

Just watching the video with Spencer and I had no idea that Pat Wilkins did his finishes! Pat is the nicest guy on the planet and I have a very cool Wilkins P/J that I love! What a great connection to learn about. I didn't know that my two basses were cousins. I'm sure they'll be very happy together!

I do not think so (maybe clandestinely). I know that Spencer is more active on the FB channel/owners group. But they are nearly always available by phoning the shop.
