The low B on my Lull P5 is tremendous, alder + rosewood
Mine is 35" scale and I would like to check out a 34" Lull P5

I should really have joined this Club when I got my M5V. So a belated hello to everyone from the Isle of Man. After a number of months of trying to get "another-make" bass to work for my regular gigs I gave up on the poor strap balance and too-close-for-me string spacing and picked up a PJ5 from Bass Direct in Warwick.

Here she is, beautifully understated in Black Trans:

35" scale, Nordy pickups and a return to passive for me. I have yet to gig her but it all sounds raw and full of character at home through a GB Shuttle 6.2.

I have been watching this for quite a while, but couldn't get myself to pull the trigger...congrats on a great bass!

I got a M4V on the pipe line, Bora blue burst, clear pickguard, black hardware, Fralin pickups and Bart pre, LEDs on the fretboard. I'm telling u guys, I can hardly wait

I love my P5 but the 34" is much more comfortable for me.
But I played the P5 at service and it's just sounds incredible every time I pull it out
Best B I have ever heard and the sustain lasts forever
Gassing for a Lull 34" Lull P5 or a Lull 34" PJ5!

So wish I had just ordered a MV5 in 34 instead of being impatient and taking a 35. This thing is huge after switching from playing a 34. That said, after a few minutes I forget about it and I still love playing it!

not a very good pic, but on the theory of "no pic no bass" I thought I would post it just to show that this Lull hybrid with a Jazz body and electronics, and a P neck, is in the house. Sounds great. Still have not debuted it with the band it's intended for, The Shoemakers, but they're on a short hiatus and that will come up in April.

thanks man ... gonna live with this 4-string for a while and if I come to love the Lull, I'll replace my Lakland P5 (my main bass guitar) with a Lull PJ5 that's a passive 35", natural with tort guard. Kind of my dream bass, but I'm not there yet.

I think it will be great. I can get along on a 35" scale, but feel more comfortable on a 34" (when I am not playing fanned frets ) and while the extended scale makes the B-string sound better, it usually makes the G-string sound thinner. I am also glad they were able to accommodate a narrower nut width.

Greg @ Rocket Music let me know yesterday afternoon that my M5V is ready and will be shipped out on Monday. I asked them to "age" the olympic white so it has that vintage-vibe. So pumped. Hoping it sounds as good as my M4V.

RW
Bart pre
Reverse push-pull passive/active
Chrome cover over neck pickup

That sounds like it will be a nice one.

I actually asked for Olympic White or something even whiter, knowing that it will yellow over time (and being okay with that). The Olympic White example on the website looks pretty white though.
