The Mike Lull Club Part 4

Gigged with my new-to-me V4 for the first time Friday night. Though I got the bass a couple of months ago, my gigs since then called for other basses. Not last night. I must say that gigging with this Mike Lull bass (along with playing through a friend's vintage Hiwatt DR-103) was a near-religious experience. Video: (Unfortunately, you can't see the bass -- ocean turquoise with matching headstock -- too well, but you definitely can hear.)

Btw, I am a soon to be Mike Lull owner. I've got a 3t sunburst T4 (with a drop-d tuner) on its way to me now, and a 34" black P5 in the making, ash body, ebony board... Really excited!!!!

And I am drooling over another bass at the Mike Lull site. This one:

Any of you who owns that one, or happens to know who owns it? That is an absolute beauty. And does anybody know whether or not the single coils in the 54P hums like the old 50s precision basses used to? Or has Mike eliminated that problem?

Yes! There's a price increase coming March 1st. They announced it about 3 or 4 weeks ago...

BTW, I've sold all my electric basses except for my two Lulls (V5 w/Audere pre and PJ5). I've had both since 2005 and they're not going anywhere soon.

This guy arrived two days ago... Being sick, I haven't been able to play it too much, but the few minutes I have had with it is VERY promising. Great response, superb playability and tone to die for...

Pretty much a standard T4: 3 tone sunburst, mahogany body, jazz neck with a rosewood board. It also has a Hipshot drop D tuner and a beautiful white pearloid pickguard...

Also pictured is my MarkBass TA503 + 2*10 traveler cab, and my pedaltrain mini...

And of course, it looks MUUUUCH better in person than in this picture...

I think a T5 would be too weird/big/long for me. Especially with a 35" scale. Anybody that has either a 34" or a 35" scale that could share their experience?

I have a T5 and NRT5 actually 15% larger body and absolutely love the balance, size, and feel. Prob is we all get in our comfort zones so dont try new angles- when I put a 4 string jazz now, it feels like a ukulele -

Just put in an order for a NRT4 with reversed headstock. Now its just a matter of waiting.

That's pretty much my bass but mine is 34. I'm pleased with the 34". B is better on the 35", no question but the is definitely good enough. I'll trade the comfort of the 34" over a slight difference in B tone over a four hour gig. Mine is maple board.
