In my opinion the 34-36,25 scale makes more sense with a tuning like BEAD then EADG.
For EADG i whould rather have the Super J/ Super P scale ( 34,5-32 scale).

But thats just the way i see it.

I might have agreed, unless the NG-2 tuned EADG beat out a boutique jazz (I won't name the brand solely out of respect for the builder) for a reggae session I had recently: it honestly wasn't even a close contest.

I brought my SJ as well, but the NG-2 was still the clear winner.

No they won’t do a matching headstock. These are the Chinese built “Standard” hence simpler, less fiddly options to make them easier to produce to a very high standard of excellence.

Seeing your credentials, it should be no surprise, but you really know how to demo a bass! I was seriously impressed with how well that triple pickup set up can do a Stingray tone. Dingwall is really impressing me lately. Years ago, I played a Combustion, but I could hear an improvement in the B string over the 35” scale Yamaha TRB5II I had at the time, but between the three pickup Dingwalls and the NG2, I know I’d be blown away if I played today.

I believe there was an earlier discussion where it was mentioned by Sheldon that the natural headstock on the black standard was a "demo" and that the production model would have a matching black headstock.

Lets be honest the metalflake aquamarine is the only color to go.
Thats why im geting a D Bird in that color by end of this year.

Both the DBird and the NG cop the Stingray tone really well: the middle setting on the DBird is similar to a P bass but with a little more heft and less clank, and the all three pickup setting sounds massive.

Highly recommended: even as an artist I waited well over a year for mine, and it was worth every minute

The rotary switch is the same on both.
The standard has the same 3 pickups as the custom.

I ended up ordering one of these in aquamarine. Probably next January by the time I get it. Can't wait!
