That's actually just a test neck: both the vintage and the black are the same bass after getting resprayed ;)

The production version will be like the other colors :thumbsup:

Chinese is fine with me. My skill level doesn't justify the prices/value for dollar ratio the American stuff is beginning to demand. The Gibson TBird is $1900 and supposedly Gibson's quality is suspect. Then Fender decided to dump the Am Std for the "whatever" series they're offering at a ridiculously inflated price compared to a year ago, which offers nothing new except for a limited selection of lame colors and antiquated technology.

Wow! That Dingwall T-Bird bass is awesome! :)

I just wish the player wouldn't immediately deaden each note he plays, but rather let the notes sustain so that we can get a better sense of the tone of the bass.

Thanks man!

I'll be sure to do a more thorough set of tone samples when mine gets delivered in a few weeks.

I find that instruments really inform and inspire what/how I play, and the really punchy and powerful nature of this bass naturally lead me to play in a more aggressive, stacatto way.

That, and the fact that it was absurdly loud in that hall...once we moved away from the higher output three pickup setting, I actually couldn't hear myself playing at all :roflmao:

Thanks MD! You're a great player! And it is so very cool of you to showcase that T-Bird bass for us TB'ers! I just like hearing notes sustain in demos as it gives me a better sense of the tone of a bass. (Just personal preference there!) :)

by far the coolest variation of the t-bird shape I’ve seen. I’m another that would love to see it in a 5 string. So is it passive? I didn’t see a battery compartment?

Wedgy body thickness is COOL. And three "reverse-P" humbuckers... WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?

Except the 36.25" scale on the bottom string, that's a deal breaker for me.



If they fanned from 32.0 to 30.0 instead - then I would happily buy three of them ( One for rounds, one for flats, and one for tapewounds...)

It actually feels like a normal scale bass due to the strap bottom locations and bridge placement.

Not a long reach to the low F, or C if you tune it BEAD, at all.

I was going to say the same thing... using the strap lock button in the back of the body makes it so the stretch is way easier. I use that location on my ABZ and it makes a world of difference.

It actually feels even shorter than the AB line.
