The Official 7-String Bass Club.

I just grabbed one of those $4 Reverb clip on tuners. Anyone have experience with these or other clip on tuners that work well with 7s? I tried a couple of spots on the headstock but it had a hard time picking up all of the strings. I didn't really expect it to work well on the low B or pick up the low F# at all, but it also didn't do well picking up the high C or F which I thought was odd. It picked up the low B here and there and worked fine on my 4 string. I have pedal tuners so I'm still covered, but I thought it would be nice to have a clip on so I didn't have to deal with pulling out my pedal board and plugging it in just to do a quick tune.

I don't have any experience with those on a 7 string, but they barely work on a 4. Your best bet is to try to pick up the 12th fret harmonic.

And one of these. Not neccessarily this particular finish, but a Wyn 7 string in general. I played on one at NAMM and it plays great.

If anyone is looking to get a Conklin GT or GTBD 7, paintedhorseguitarcompany has them for a really good price on ebay.
GT7-$699
GTBD7 - $899
They have the GT7s on Reverb.com for $699 as well, but the GTBD7s aren't marked down.
