The Official EBS Club

Can anybody on here give me instructions as to how to convert my Reidmar 500 from a 250V to a 120 V amp.

Looks like I will need to flip a little red switch on the back and get a 120V three prong power cable. But Do I need to get inside of it and change a fuse?

Do you have the manual? Link here just in case: http://media1.ebssweden.com/2017/02/manual_Reidmar500.pdf

First they only remind you to unplug before flipping the red switch to the correct voltage which I suppose suggests you would be travelling from one voltage to another (#7) but then they also ask you to only use it at the correct mains voltage and replace the fuse with same type and value one if needed (#10). If you look at the specs on the last page they indicate T2A fuse for 230V and T4A fuse for 120V. So, yes, it looks like you are supposed to replace the fuse for proper operation.

You can perhaps see the fuse compartment lid in the photo I am trying to attach. Between mains cord and switch. Should be easy to replace. No need to open the amp itself.

If you want to make absolutely sure: Link Removed

EDIT: funny though, mine came with a spare fuse rated at 4A and I am in Europe so running 230V... Also, sorry for the grainy pic but it looks like the text under the fuse lid also says T4A.

which a T4A fuse is rated for 4 Amps and 250V I believe.

Hey, I am considering adding a Reidmar to my EBS Neoline 210 (4 ohms), which one would be the better choice, 500 or 750? Would I actually gain anything with the 750? Headroom, fullness, whatever?
Well, headroom, certainly, and a better chance of damaging your cabinet ;), but the main difference for me is that the 750 gives you a variable Drive level.

Indeed, I normally use my own drive pedals, so the drive function on the 750 is not a must-have for me. So basically, you’d recommend the 500? Will the 500 be able to drive the Neo 210 to the fullest?
I'm quite fond of EBS' drive circuit, myself, but I also use outboard pedals most of the time. The cabinet's power handling rating is close enough to the Reidmar 500's output rating that I'd say, yes, you'd be able to drive it as far is it will go and remain musical.

I got this last week:

I have managed to hold my bass, the amp, the box and a bag of groceries in one hand while i was looking for car keys with another. All the controls are there, simple, logical and musical, and at last it sound truly inspiring... as long as you keep it on moderate volume. Only funny thing with this pair are their rated power. 300W/8Ohm box seems to be fine with 250W at 4 Ohms amp, but once you pass the noon on gain and volume, everything starts falling apart. Despite the rating, this amp definitely demands bigger speakers...

Have borrowed two small combos for evaluation and possible purchase, an EBS Classic Session 120 (Mk1) and a PJB Briefcase. I'm looking for a small size combo for home rehearsal and smaller gigs where my main rig is overkill. The EBS is clearly a winner for my needs, very good sounding amp with the lovely EBS sweepable mid control. Handles a low B very good and the tilt back option is a nice feature. A bit on the heavy side, 21kg, but no dealbreaker. Small size is more important than low weight for me, and I have found that some lightweight combos tend to sound boomy when pushed. No boomyness with the EBS, but one design flaw though. The grill cloth rattles on loud volumes, it just don't let enough air through when the bass port starts pumping. I read on EBS website that this is corrected on the new Mk 2 model. The grill is easily removed though.
The PJB also sounds very good on low volumes but is not very loud, with a five string bass it runs into problems quite soon. Great EQ, very responsive, but I don't like the built in compressor at all. It makes some strange sounds when working that I don't like. Cool design and very small size, but I really had expected a little more from an amp in this price segment.

Hi all! I'm happy to finally have found this club! I have a Reidmar head running through two EBS Classicline 1x12 cabs. Best amp I've had. I also have a BassIQ pedal that I absolutely love. Are there numbers for this club? It's great to find others that love their gear too! Obligatory pictures of the full stack and the pedal board as well. Yes, I realize that the board was wired funky, I have since fixed it.

OK, I've been running behind, but Aweiss96 was asking directly about numbers, so... Yes, we have numbers here, I just tend to catch up and update my master list in batches. Since the last update we have:

guy2506 #92
Zbysek #93
bozha #94
Aweiss96 #95

Thanks for the pics and the enthusiasm.
