This might come off a bit cheesy but I think Nike said it best when they said "Just Do It". No matter how tired you are, just work through it. That feeling you get when you finish the routine is FAR better than the feeling you get the day after you skipped out on one. Besides, you'll get used to it like said above.
Couldn't of been said any better. I usually workout fairly hard during the week and use the weekend to rest (or depending on how consistent I was during the week use Sunday as a light lifting day). I go through my routines by focusing on various areas on different days to keep things fresh. I don't force myself to go through when I'm really drained from a long day or am feeling sore but I just think to myself how much worse I'd feel if I skipped a day. The reverse psychology for me works wonders and therefore I don't miss too many days unless something fairly big comes up.

I just went on vacation for a few days to Atlantic City and I've been feeling pretty crappy since I came back home... :atoz:

Iron brethren!

What are you lifting?

I hit 240x3, 4 sets on the bench tonight, so I am pretty happy about that.

Currrent numbers:
Bench: 240x3x4
Bench (wide grip): 185x10
Bench (narrow grip): 155x10
Front Barbell Raise: 50x10
Side lateral raise: 25x8 (25lb DB each hand)
Curl: 95x6, 4 sets
Deadlift: 345x5, 4 sets
Squat: 355x5, 4 sets
Shrugs: 225-275x10 (depending on heavy/light)
4 finger deadlift (index & middle fingers only): 165x10, each held for a 4 count.
Rectangular Fix 55x10, 4 sets, each held for a 4 count. This is a new favorite exercise. Forearms & grip!
DB Press: 65x4, 4 sets
Overhead press: 135x4, 4 sets (after bench & shoulder exercises)

male, 31, 6'0", 256lb

I've been off for a while on the leg & back lifts due to a tweaked lower back two weeks ago. Maintaining excellent posture and good mornings are helping considerably.

Stay Strong!

Male, 25, 6'4", 285lbs (not too sure about the bf%, somewhere between 25 and 30)

3 sets of 5:
Deadlift (single set) - 330lbs
Squat - 242lbs
Bench - 192.5lbs
Overhead - 132lbs
Clean & Jerk - 176lbs
Clean & Jerk (single) - 264lbs
Snatch (3x3) - 132lbs
Snatch (single) - 209lbs

Some awesome lifts going on there. Che, you squatting more than you deadlift? That's awesome!

My lifts are probably a bit short of what these numbers say, been insanely busy with work, then was at a conference in the US and I've spent most of the past week laid out on my back after doing myself a mischief when I went back to rugby training!

Really need to work on my squats to keep up with some of the lads here!

It's photoshopped.

I don't think so - there is enough documentation online about who she is. Some of her other photos show similar physique. If I wasn't at work, I'd post some references - perhaps tomorrow before work...

Mohawk - yes, squatting more than deadlift, for now. It is only because I am doing all deadlifts with double-over-hand grip, and recently switched to sumo style. My maxes for both lifts are 405 & 455lb, for squat & deadlift, respectively - it is just where I am right now.

Hello there!

Long time lurker to this thread, finally decided it was time to jump in. Been lifting in that non-comitted teenage fashion since I was 16, finally pulled my socks up and took it seriously about a year ago.

Anyway, the vital stats: (forgive the strange figures, metric conversions and all that)

Male, 18, 6'0, 204 lbs.

All for 5x5

Squat: 330 lbs
Deadlift: 353 lbs
Bench: 248 lbs
Overhead: 176 lbs
Barbell Row: 215 lbs

Unfortunately I'm eating at a deficit, so progress is sloooow.

Nothing in particular to add, just jumping aboard this heavy and well-muscled wagon.

Carry on lads.

Without a doubt, I often need to take a step back and work on form after the weight has increased a fair amount.

I'm not hugely far off that weight on singles, know what you mean about it feeling good (I hit up 185Kg/407lbs for calf raises, granted you don't need the strength that comes with squatting that weight, but still impressive to have on the back :p )

I would think if her thighs were that big from squatting, her midsection would be bigger too...

May not have been from squats. Rowers tend to have well developed thighs without squats (tho she would have a broader mantle from rowing). Speed skaters and (field) hockey players can have thighs like that too, many of which maintaining a tidy midsection like that :hiding:

Thought this might be of interest for some of you. I haven't been to Planet Fitness, but I've definitely heard/read fair share about them.

What really gets me is it's not just Planet Fitness, but a lot of chain gyms and even some private gyms are turning into a health club rather than a 'gym' gym. I had a hell of a time finding a gym in my area that allowed deadlifts. lol

Can't access the video from the UK. Any chance of a quick summary? :hiding:

As for the deadlift thing, that sounds a bit stupid. What are they worried about? Damage to the equipment or damage to you?
