So I pick up my bass tonight to practice (haven't practiced for 3 days as I was really busy at work and in life), plugging it in and... dead silence. Reconnected all cables, checked all connections and still nada. Picked up Sadowsky, plays beautifully. So it's not an amp!

So I replaced both batteries in Maruszczyk with fresh out of the box, Duracell, still nada. Checked all: jack, knobs, nothing. Even dead silence in passive mode. Actually I can hear just a tiny bit of scratching in speaker when changing from passive to active on the amp itself (-10db).

I care about this bass with passion. Always carefully unplugging the cord ever time I finish playing so I don't damage the input jack or drain batteries. What could have happened to it while it was sitting on the stand??

I'll call SouthShoreMusic tomorrow morning to find out how they wanna proceed... Disappointed to say the least but wanting to fix this so I can go back to playing it.

I hope you get it figured out man, that stinks!

I just got word from Adrian that my bass is done and on the next shipment back to him. So hopefully a couch shot in the next week or so! :woot::drool:

I might also be selling the Headless Frog in my avatar too if anyone is interested - I am almost exclusively playing 4-strings these days, no reason for that beauty to rot in my basement. :crying:

I own a Hellwood 5a. The delano preamp crapped out on me the day of a gig. They were great with sending another preamp overnight. They do stand by their products imo.

Yea, dropped off bass at the repair shop. They are suspecting preamp went dead (that's without looking at it yet). They said that they have seen these Aguilar OBP-2 go bad from time to time. Not sure Adrian would overnight the amp to me in the US but who knows, maybe SouthShoreMusic would. Will figure this out once I know for sure whats wrong with her ;)

Received my new Maruszczyk Jake L 4P Classic two days ago and it's everything I expected. Beautiful Vintage White finish on a chambered Alder body, matching headstock, Katalox fretboard, Tort guard, Jazz width neck with a 9.5" radius and stock Maruszczyk pickups with passive electronics. Simple but effective. Sounds like a P bass should, with a fabulous smooth neck with low action. I ordered this one through Donovan at Fretspot.com and he was very helpful throughout the order process. Oh yeah, it weighs 6 lbs 15 oz!!! With no neck dive, yes, under 7 pounds. Amazing work by Adrian Maruszczyk, if you're considering one of his basses I totally recommend it.

This one has a flatter looking finish, and not as pronounced grain as my two other basses with Amazon Rosewood and Morado (Bolivian Rosewood). It's also harder on the Janka scale than both of them, and most rosewoods. So far, it feels fine to me.
