The Frog I'm opting for has a bolt-on neck. The Padalka is a set neck according to the website, though on the single cutaway, it appears to be very well set. The Eye bass has what I believe is an aluminum core, so everything is bolt-on.

Ya know what? I should probably throw this one into the mix as well, but it would be #4 on the list.

Still a great looking Jake!

How would you describe the P-pickup? Is it comparable to a classic Precision?

I'm considering a 6-string with P pickup for a future build (Frog, Jake, Jazzus, who knows!), and the bassculture seems like a good option.

Long time no hear :)
It's convincingly P-ish, to put it simply. I don't really grab this bass to play stuff I would rather play on my P-bass, it just doesn't feel right to me (anymore). But if you need a 6-string that can do convincing P-sounds, it's a very good pickup. All other things being equal, I doubt I would be able to tell it apart from even my own P-bass.

I already admired that bass when you first shared it years ago. :thumbsup:

Glad you still have it! Could it be the only 6-string Jake to date? Can't remember ever seeing another one...

I haven't been on TB in several years, but I remember sharing it when I received it. I don't think there was a Maruszczyk club yet. Good to see his instruments have become a bit more well-known!
Tbh I thought about selling it a few times during periods of disuse, but I'm glad I never did because I'm sure I would regret it a lot. I asked a local music shop how much they would be able to give me for it, but the guy said it wouldn't be worth it for me and they wouldn't be able to sell it. Not much demand for 6'ers...
It's possible it's the only Jake 6 and it would be cool if it were. Their shop lists 4s and 5s, not 6s, but I'm sure you could still have one made. Maybe no one else is stupid enough to want a 6-string P-bass:whistle:

My Cazpar's have made it to the US now...They are in Memphis Tennessee but stuck for clearance. I have never seen an alert like this from FedEx and I have have purchased Basses before from out of the country. This is the FedEx alert I received this Morning. :eek:

Clearance delay - Import
Itemized breakdown of product composition required.
Recommended action: Shipper to provide.

I got a similar alert from FedEx for a recent import. Someone couldn't find the 'composition statement', even though it was with the bass. If they can't find it, FedEx may try to reach you and then you can get a copy from the shipper and provide it.

Although it's a 4 string, and not a comparison, I've played a ZPO and two baby-Zs some years ago.
Ateliers feels rounder in the neck and fretboard, and the painting etc. is more detailed.
The neck is slightly heavier due to KTS titanium rods installed.
I prefer the Maru by far.

I received my Cazpar's last night and had some time to inspect and play them for a little while. I am more than impressed with them and zero regrets on ordering both. Both are nice and light. The black one weighs in at 6.9lbs and the Spalted Maple weighs 7.2lbs. Both have 38mm nut, carbon rods, 14" fretboard radius, monorail bridge w/18mm spacing and Hipshot tuners. The action is perfect on both with no buzz. Today after work I will have more time to play them at higher volume levels and get a better idea on how to set my controls on both with my rig. I would not hesitate to buy another bass from Adrian in the future. :bassist:

Blasphemy to ask, but here goes...

How are their guitars? Does anyone own one?

Lastly, how is it ordering a guitar that's not in the configurator?

Got an idea for a Tele turned into a 335 jazz box that I can't find elsewhere. Also finding jazz guitars never have maple fret boards and that's my preference.
