I missed that context, so I re-read your post. Now I get what you're saying, I just disagree with the premise, which is probably why I missed the context the first time around. I don't think the resale value of Warmoth parts has anything to do with whether or not the resulting bass is someone's idea of a train wreck or not. The price of anything on the used market is going to be determined by supply & demand, and what drives the demand is popularity and value. My Warmoth jazz has a bubinga neck with a wenge fretboard -- it's gorgeous and fast, but kinda heavy. If I were to try to sell it, it would probably languish in the classifieds while equivalent maple/rosewood or maple/maple necks sold quicker. Same thing for the three-pickup body.
Most of the things I buy will probably take a hit on resale, because I like unusual things, and unusual things just don't sell as fast normally. My Maruszczyk Frog is an unusual bass, even by Maruszczyk Frog standards. It's just a fact that fewer people are going to be interested in buying that bass (were I ever to sell it) than would be interested in buying someone's Fender P bass. It doesn't mean Maruszczyks aren't held in high esteem, it just means the pool of people holding them in high esteem is a relatively small segment of the market.
Which is funny, because Warmoth is actually licensed by Fender to make Fender style necks and bodies.
And if you extended that criterion to apply to body/pickguard shape, you'd want to exclude every StingRay ever made. Once you've seen them from a certain perspective, you can't ever unsee them.....

Supply of Warmoth is super tight for the last couple years, yet they still sell cheap. Demand can depend on how much value people perceive, and if you see lots of ugly examples, perceived value is low, so demand is low. The Warmoth stuff I've had was nicer than fender, worth half as much. Apple is in demand because of the brand and what it means. Android is what poor people buy (perception by some), so demand is lower. I think Warmoth is perceived poorly by many. LG couldn't sell anything, and most android sells on price. It's all perception.

Is the Mr Tee contoured or is it just shadows? Got a shortscale mr Tee on my Maruszczyk GAS shortlist but the configurator is too fun so ive been overwhelmed with option paralysis for like 3 years

Yes, front and back are slightly contoured and the body edges are rounded. I am sure you can get more / deeper contours if you ask.

I did too. According to the Nordstrand website they are 3-4 weeks out on delivery. I would think Adrian's team would order the pickups as soon as they get a confirmed build order - so Nordstrand must be really behind.
Yep, Randy confirmed there was an order placed on Jan 1 with Nordstrand (for my pickups) and they are 12wks delivery for builders as consumers apparently get first dibs, and they have to ship from CA to Poland so that's probably gonna be delayed as well... seems a bit odd to me, but we're at the mercy of Nordstrand's schedule at this point. I know BBG has them in stock now
but that doesn't help us.

at 6wks in, I added a Cazpar... and then at 12wks, I started building another of my own headless... New headless build… might be a long thread :-) but in less than 4wks I'll have that one done this week, so that'll keep me busy until my Paddock and Cazpar show up!so apparently I don't handle patience well

Ugh, I've had a volume pot go bad on my Jake, built in 2017 . It's scratchy and will drop out a few places along its travel. I hit it multiple times with Deoxit, without much effect. I'm surprised with this since I've kept that bass in a fairly protected environment. I have a replacement on order, so I'll get to put my mediocre soldering skill to the test here soon.

in fairness, I’ve sold 3 others in the same timeframe that have paid for the new ones… so all coming from the toy fund 
Jumping in with a custom ordering question. I'm sure that this has been addressed somewhere in these 300+ pages, but in the interest of time, what's the best way for a Stateside resident to place an order? Directly via their website and the configurator, or is there a Stateside dealer/broker? Thanks.
