The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

Do you know if transparent color can be ordered together with neckthrough construction? It is not allowed in the configurator.
Yes it can, are you trying to add the color to the neck as well? If so that would have to be requested in the notes for the order. Or through your dealer, if you’re working with a dealer.

I paid a bit extra to have my neck painted matte green to go with the rest of the bass. Never regretted it.

I ordered this mid-April and it arrived today. Thrilled with this LIGHT WEIGHT beauty. (7 pounds, 6 ounces) Can't wait until Thursday to take it to the theater for my steady show gig. Has the Aguilar HC J5 pickups. My first choice was the 60's vintage but Adrian (the owner) ran into a faulty/defective pick-up and it would take to long to send it back to Aguilar for replacement or repair...also they do NOT make this pickup any longer. The substitute is the Hum Canceling J pickups. I am not crazy about the raised pole pieces, but it is what it is!!

Out of my curiosity... How much you paid for that exactly order? If it's not a problem for you to reveal...

Another thing: Have you been charged any kind of tax for your instrument? Since they're coming from Europe, I'm not aware of the taxes... Thanks! And congrats for the beautiful axe!

My "in my hands" price was $1865 from Randy @ Bass Spotlight. I have purchased directly from ADRIAN in the past but was not aware that you can negotiate with him on price. When I bought from Adrian, I did have to pay customs fee and shipping in addition to the "build" price. Going through a dealer ended up saving me about $600. Now, with that said....could I have negotiated a price savings directly with Adrian? Others say, yes!

I received some Quilted Maple top samples this morning and I ended up choosing this Quilted top below for my 30" Jake Double reversed P build. I found a couch pic online of an Elwood L that I originally saw when researching Maruszczyk a few years ago and asked if they can try to match the color as close as possible. It is a little different than regular Trans Turquoise. I am only having the top and headstock face with color like the couch pic I found. I also asked if they can make the control knob holes recessed like on an Elwood L or Frog, as long as my top is thick enough they will.

Looks like a good project.

That Elwood actually belongs (or belonged?) to our club member @Lightmanager. No idea whether he is still around?

For me, the dealer discount plus the savings (in both cost and headache) of not having to deal with customs was enough of a savings. I didn't know at the time that it was possible to negotiate with Adrian, but I don't know if I could have saved any more than I did. And it was worth whatever difference I ended up paying to not have to deal with customs.

Since I did NOT know that the price was negotiable, I don't have experience with that. However, I would approach it this way....tell him how fantastic his basses are and that you configured it at his website but it is over your budget. I would then ask what the lowest price he might be able to offer to you on this configuration. Just my 2 cents

According to some TBers, if you ask someone what their lowest price is, it's insulting and they will ghost you. :roflmao:

Maybe the expectation of haggling is a cultural thing but I would rather he just set a fair price and be done with it. I think the configurator prices are quite fair, BTW.

Just to see if I'm getting the right thing... Did your order your bass thru the dealer OR you just picked one "in stock" from the dealer? Thanks
