Dear fellas, has anyone put Labellas or Thomastik on their Maru ? I'm considering the TI flats but heard there was a noticeable difference in the "flobby" factor regarding the E string vs the other strings.. (or I'm mistaking with labellas low tension, can't remember..)

I use them, not on a Maru and they are a little more floppy, however, you get used to it and the reward is a wonderful and surprisingly versatile tone.
Here's me slapping an extremely old 2nd hand set, I've since swapped them out for new ones.

I almost felt nervous watching your video because it's like you're playing the riff from Sly & the family Stone's "Thank You" without the last popped E :D

I use TIs on my 5-string Frog, I love the tension and the sound and the feel and everything about them. At first I was shocked at how bright they were out of the box, but that wears off pretty quickly as you break them in. Now they just sound like syrup. I use Labella Low Tension Flats on my Gibson RD Artist, and those are great too, but they're noticeably more tense than the TIs.

False alert, emailed him my questions again and had a reply tonight :)

Question to you guys out there:

How many of you with a maple neck ended up with a quartersawn neck without asking for it? My first Maruszczyk had a quartersawn neck and I didn't specify it.

Adrian told me they have different wood pieces, some are flat sawn, some quartersawn, and they use whatever they can buy at any given time. And to get quartersawn specifically I'd have to ask for it.

Has anyone lived that absolutely frightening situation when Adrian inadvertently send you the wrong invoice, so you have to, in an total panic state (since the bass was to be shipped in a matter of hours), explain to him that he made a mistake (he wrote "custom fretless" instead of "custom 30'' short"), but he's as confused as you are because you wrote "receipt" instead of "invoice" in your explanation, so he has to show you a pic of your bass to confirm ? Well that just arrived to me, luckily he understood quickly and sent me the right invoice, but good god, now I'm still feeling so anxious :nailbiting:
