A few weeks after receiving (and, of course, having paid for) my bass, I got an email from Adrian, saying my bass was now ready to ship. Attached was a couch photo of a bass, that looked almost exactly like mine. Only difference was that the neck wasn't roasted. I wrote back explaining that I had already received my bass and Adrian was very cool about it and just said that this sort of thing happens sometimes. I am sure they will find a happy buyer for it soon.Has anyone lived that absolutely frightening situation when Adrian inadvertently send you the wrong invoice, so you have to, in an total panic state (since the bass was to be shipped in a matter of hours), explain to him that he made a mistake (he wrote "custom fretless" instead of "custom 30'' short"), but he's as confused as you are because you wrote "receipt" instead of "invoice" in your explanation, so he has to show you a pic of your bass to confirm ? Well that just arrived to me, luckily he understood quickly and sent me the right invoice, but good god, now I'm still feeling so anxious![]()
Wow! That looks absolutely stunning! This is mine now...![]()
Did they accidentally make two basses off of one order?A few weeks after receiving (and, of course, having paid for) my bass, I got an email from Adrian, saying my bass was now ready to ship. Seems like it. Adrian didn't specify, though, and seeing as the necks are of different material, maybe other specs changed as well.Did they accidentally make two basses off of one order?
I thought it was dependent on the pre amp requirements, here’s a picture of mine with OBP3 and 250k. I don’t have a passive example. Can anybody tell me what volume/ tone pots Adrian uses as standard (if you don't ask for something specific). Are they 250k or 500k ? ?
And are these available in short scale as well? Can anyone give me a review of these black nylon Maruszczyk bass strings ? ?
What are your thoughts ? ?

Thanks, just saw that myself as well.On the Maruszczyk website it says those exact strings are only for 34inch & 35inch scale basses.
That’s a great shot by the way.I had my fretless frog shipped with it.
I think they were still prototypes at the time (their first high C for sure). Adrian thought they C-string still needed some finetuning.
I thought they were okay, but I started experimenting with different flat/halfround/tapewound strings, only to realize I actually prefer stainless steel rotosounds.
I tried them on my Warwick RB Alien as well, but I prefered the LaBella deep talking bass tapes, who felt like they had more tension and had a more defined midrange, playing unplugged
This was back in 2013, so I assume the current strings might not be the same type or set that I received.
Edit: this was the pre-couch couch shot, with the strings.

Oh very nice top and love those Delanos, it looks familiar… what preamp does it have?I got this beautiful Elwood L from a fellow TBer last week. I am sure some of you will recognize it. I started getting into 32" scale and this opportunity arose. I absolutely love it so far. My first 5 string.

Here's a rig shot from a recent gig, just for the heck of it.Man it’s been quiet around here, 4 days since the last post? Have the orders and new arrivals slowed down? …or are folks just taking a break with end of summer upon us?
