The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

I am waiting on one more order that I placed on Aug. 12th and I was informed Monday from my dealer Randy that Adrian will be receiving another batch of finished orders within the next 2 weeks and mine should be one of them. I would assume your order will probably be ready then also if your bass was not waiting for any special hardware or electronics. 12-17 weeks is about the average wait for completion.
I placed my order on Aug 10th and haven't heard from Randy yet. Hope it'll be in the next batch.

This arrived today. I can begin to describe how happy I am with this bass. Build quality is excellent. Pictures can't do it justice. It looks amazing in person. So happy I found this thread to introduce me to Maruszczyk.

Received this image the other day (order was around Aug 1, for those of you keeping that score). 32" scale Elwood L w/ Delano SBCs, katalox fretboard, eye poplar over walnut body. Shipping will be delayed due to travel schedule, but looking forward to adding it to the Maruszczyk palette, the others being Elwoods as well: a pj 5 and an L pj 5 fretless posted earlier.

I hope you are as happy with the Delano pickups as I am. My Elwood has the Delano Xtender pickups and Delano preamp. I have been really impressed with the Delano setup. Very hi-fi and clear, but I can also get a decent P bass vibe as well. It is pretty versatile.
I love my Delano pickups. I'm actually thinking of trying the Delano P pickup also.

Your intel and guess were correct. Just got the email.

What color is that finish? It's very cool.
That is Eye Poplar with a transparent white finish. I had, years ago and now I am forgetting the custom builder, seen someone locally with something with Eye Poplar with a transparent white finish and I had made a note of it. May be an odd choice to cover up a pretty wood grain, but something about it looks ghostly to me. I am also, aesthetically, a big fan of stark contrasts. I was either going to go white body/ dark neck or dark body / light wood neck.

What did you choose for the fingerboard wood?

Macassar Ebony. In a bit of reverse of the body, I wanted dark, with just a hint of grain. I also just like the way ebony feels.
That's a good choice. You nailed the aesthetic you were going for.

I went with katalox on mine. I prefer dark fretboards, regardless of what the rest of the bass looks like. The katalox was an experiment. It might not be advisable to experiment on a custom $2-3K bass, but I trusted my intuition, and I love the result.
