It looks like the hipshot with 16.5 mm spacing and that is their narrowest but can be adjusted slightly.

I really like the sound of the Delano P pickup. I had it in a bass and it was a very good P sounding pickup to my ears.

Not that it's a huge difference, but the dimensions actually show 16.5mm spacing even though Public Peace says 17mm.

I know the true Stingray placement would have the pickup another half or three quarters of an inch toward the neck, but it still sounds like the passive StringRay I used to have. Having either with 25% or so of the other added in works well also.

It's interesting. These are fully custom, but they still are essentially the same price as a Fender Mod shop bass, which isn't even the higher end of Fender's offerings. I created my own configurator vs reality comparison.

The seller provided the serial and I sent it off to Public Peace for more info. As usual, Adrian responded within minutes and told me the spacing is 17mm. That's a lot closer to my preferred 18mm than the seller-quoted 15mm (he purchased it new and did not change the bridge). 👍

Seems like the ~$330 premium over a new Sire P5r might be worth it?

Well, I'm too busy to write a full NBD, and you won't see this in my hands, but here's a quick look:

The Jake is a winner, especially for only CHF 830 (~$920)! Very lightweight at 3.71 kg (8.18 lbs) with a great-feeling plain maple neck. The only minor disappointment is that there is no tone control in passive mode. I am not sure if I'll swap in a passive setup, but I'll give the Delano 2-band EQ a fair shot for a while to see if I like it. I imagine it's not possible to easily add a tone control to this config? Delano P is growly and the Delano MM sounds like an MM to my untrained ears, but a pretty nice combination overall.

Wow that’s a great deal, congrats!
You can easily wire in a tone control too, I have them on many of my active basses. You can swap your volume for a concentric pot with volume on top and tone on bottom.
