My original 'Burst came with a Hipshot 'B' bridge, possibly to aid balance as the body was so light. It's a bridge I really like, and I think it works on a P body better than the standard bridge (IMO). It's also great for palm muting.
Tuners are another thing - I'm not a fan of the stock tuners. They work fine, but they feel a little generic (again, IMO). So mine have Ultralites.

I had standard. "Big one" wasn't an option at the times I ordered my Jake. Gotta notice that stock tuners required putting some oil on them. I mean - they are cheapo-cheap, but they work fine.
Would you say the tuners are on par with Squier parts? Or cheaper? I know, kind of a subjective question to ask.
Never got Squires. Tuners just do their job - AFTER you oil them
Right after I got the bass they were making creeking noise while tuning - not a big pleasure, I should say
I got Wilkinson's on my Mensinger Joker bass and they creak a little too.....
My latest built will have Hipshots....
My sandberg uses the same bridge design with these saddles, I really like them. They're kind of a pain to adjust intonation, but if you're not constantly experimenting with different strings that's basically a one time thing, after that it's locked in place and there is no way those things can rattle, which is an issue I have had with other bridges.

No reason to me. Standard hardware more than does the job and holds tuning fine. however its highly subjective so only my experience and opinion.

yeah man , i played at Adrian's place an Elwood L5A that was 32 inch. amazing.
I have one ordered (Elwood 30 inch) should have it later this month.....
I actually have a Mensinger Joker which is shortscale and which I love to bits.....

32 inch is medium scale.All my Maruszczyks are like that.

yea
i only speak in inch in general ... easier and every body understands it was a cool bass, had never played a Low B that was 32... sounds more than fine , does the whole job...
