The Official MTD USA Thread

I was talking to Vic about this, and what would be the "ideal" rock-type setup for an MTD?
At least in drop D, sometimes in full D (ADGCF).

My 535 is wenge/wenge with myrtl burl+poplar/tulipwood.

I'm thinking:

535/24
maple/ash neck/board
ash body/maple top in some translucent stain

Would this be along the right lines? Need it to sound good with a pick too. :cool:

I presume you mean a standard 5-string tuning dropped a whole tone, right? Meaty! Might try that out tonight and report back, with any luck, the ash will keep it tight enough to be practical. (Ash/burl maple + ash/mac ebony.)

my mtd 635-24 ! got this bass from fellow tb member and he told me that the first and original owner of this bass is Adrian Garcia(RIP)
