That's a good enough reason for a new question - how much different, in practice, is a 535-21 to a 24? There's obviously a bit more room for slapping, but is it that noticable? Is there any other differences due to the slightly shorter fingerboard?
I'll toss out the notion of balance. I remember hearing third-hand that MT said his bodies were designed for a 21-fret neck, and that he was surprised so many folks had to have 24. Heck...I'm guilty as charged with my 635.
Obviously I've bought mine based on sound. While I admittedly had a "gotta have 24 frets, darnit!" bias, the sound of my 535 easily convinced me...and heck, there's no money up high on the neck anyway, right?
