I've been wondering about the maple ebony combo in an MTD neck but, then again, I've also been "wondering" about countless other combinations. I'd like to see a back shot of that 535, and would also like to know the weight. I guess it doesn't really matter though, cause that bass ain't going to be mine. Did I mention that I have Mike keeping an eye out for a light weight piece of ash for me...

I've been doing business with Glenn for many, many years, and always enjoy his tone descriptions of the MTD's (which are very accurate). I can tell by the write-up that he is excited about this one.

My MTD 534 neckthru. Honduran Rosewood on Western Big Leaf Maple, Maple w/ Purple Heart neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard. Awesome!
Go to his page on Facebook and he has pic's and the letter that Mike sends along with his basses. I believe it has an alder body, maple burl top, maple neck, ...I can't remember the fingerboard wood, but is reddish in color. The string saddles are silver and the tips of the tuners. On the top of the headstock it has MTD AG.
Makore. I've mentioned this before, but there's one at Invalid Link Removed and it is absolutely ferocious. I'd never heard of the wood, but would now describe it as the result of a steamy night of romance between mahogany and ash.
On an unrelated note...I'm searching "MTD" every day now on TB, hoping to see new pics of these beautiful musical instruments. I'm so looking forward to taking delivery of the two MTDs I ordered four weeks ago. Only eight months to go......
