Well it's Pierre Laporte - not the Pierre you're thinking of (I'm assuming, after having read your NAMM report). Pierre Laporte has been making basses for a long time but his main business is repair and restoration, which is why he only builds on request. Great basses that I feel stand up to anything else out there.

Yes, I was thinking of the other Pierre. Imagine, there being two luthiers named Pierre in Montreal!?!

I will look into P. Laporte's work, though!

Pulled the trigger, and have conceived fraternal (not identical) twins with Mr. Tobias'a guidance. We're expecting a 9 month gestation period. I'll have to wait until then for a number obviously, and I'll keep the details under wraps until that happy day. Until then, the more pictures of MTDs on this thread, the better!
