What's up buddy! Definitely IMHO...
The Walnut ash is the most aggressive and has much more clarity than the others... It has a great speaking voice for soloing!
The Alder body bass has a very round tone but has a nice sheen on the top end that I like. It's probably my favorite for slap because it seems to have just the right amount of compression with the top end sparkle.
The Tulipwood wenge/ wenge is sort of in the middle of the top two. It can do the aggressive thing similar to the ash bass but also has nice body to the low end. If I had to have only one for versatility, it would probably be this bass.

^ I'm so used to seeing walnut paired with maple fingerboards on MTDs that the above looks kind of novel. I like it a lot - very classy looking!

I'm not a good sound describer,
what I feel, she just sing awesome,
outstanding clarity,
slap and chord killer, very clear and sweet hi,
some people said, low freq. isn't too fat, but enough.
@ Jerome - Is that your current MTD collection? I know where you live.
I want in on that action!
I only have one MTD now, but I think it's a dandy, and I can share too!

I just sent Mike an empty case to ship back to me with my new 535 inside (he is waiting on a new shipment of cases, and I didn't want to wait
