No series, and no written indicator - I'm very familiar with the sonic fingerprint of each, supposed I assumed it might be more obvious than jt was. Each example uses parallel first then single. I wired a volume control with DPDT switch to switch both back and forth (foregoing individual control of each).Am I missing a written indicator or am I supposed to tell the difference between series and parallel? I've never had a bass that could switch between the two. Never done a pickup change either.
It was on facebook, hard to find but showed as a post on their page. I think it kept getting dropped, so I gave up after a few minutes. They did mention they would record and post later.Any one have the link for the “just bass it” zoom that’s going on right now?
I asked for this myself a couple pages ago and there were no examples given/available, so here you go - first super quick, direct test right after installing Bartolini Classic Bass dual coils in my 535. Same riffs played with parallel wiring and with single coil config, but with the neck pickup flipped upside down to make the two humcanceling coils both bridge-facing. This is the M55CBC model. I'm using the stock Bart buffer that's a normal part of the MTD circuit on these basses as well.
I'm curious about that myself. Most footage of Super users I can find is oriented pretty differently, tone wise. Lots of mids, treble turned down, mellow strings, fingers only etc.Great video! Wonder if it sound close to the super5 pickups
That's exactly how I play my Super.I'm curious about that myself. Most footage of Super users I can find is oriented pretty differently, tone wise. Lots of mids, treble turned down, mellow strings, fingers only etc.
I don't think so, at least as far as I can tell. I've owned four 535's and one 635 over the years. Looking at pics of them, the horn profile is the same.I have been out of the MTD game for awhile now. Did the upper horn change? I was looking at some basses on basssandiego this morning and they all seemed longer and closer the neck than I remember. Just curious.
That's a good question. I've got one of the new ones and one of the standard A style (not B), but one's a 5 and one's a 6 so I can't directly compare.I don't think so, at least as far as I can tell. Along those lines though, does anyone know if the newer custom MTD bridge is a direct retrofit for the previous Hipshot B style bridge?
From what I saw all of the MTDs on that site are 24 fret models so that might influence the look somewhat. But MTDs have never had totally uniform shapes. The handmade aspect of the basses ensures that no two are exactly alike in terms of shaping.I have been out of the MTD game for awhile now. Did the upper horn change? They are and have been for a while. The final shaping is by hand. As well as the necks.Aren't the bodies CNC'd ?
I think that only the very general shaping is done by CNC. Most of the process is done by hand.Aren't the bodies CNC'd ?
You're a patient guy. I'm still waiting on an update on my Saratoga that was estimated to be done in January. With the mess in the world right now, I asked Mike (like a month ago) to just put my custom order on hold and to not bother until things return to some normalcy. I can wait.
Any particular reason why it’s taking so long? I know there’s a back up on hardware from hipshot. I was trying to order a headless and that could be a long time out. You're a patient guy. I'm still waiting on an update on my Saratoga that was estimated to be done in January.
