This just came today :D:D

I have too many Peavey basses to mention. I did want to mention my peavey rig. I use a peavey 4-10 cab and a peavey 1-15 cab. I run a seperate peavey amp to each cab. I use a Mark VIII 600 watt to the 4-10 and a Tmax 500 watt amp to the 1-15 cab. I don't cross them over. I run them full range but with a slightly different EQ and gain setting. I can get alot of different tones this way. If one of my amps craps out on me i have no worries. For larger out door shows I use a third peavey Mark VI 350 watt to run my 1-18 Acoustic 370reflect cab. Sometimes I use the Mark 6 to power a 8-10 svt cab. The 3 amps togather really sound cool for a bunch of old cheap peavey amps. I mainly use foundation, cirrus, and, millenium 5 string basses. Peavey all the way!

I have an 80's Peavey foundation and a Firebass 700 soon to be paired with a Peavey tvx ex 115 4ohm cab. I like the bass because it sounds great and is really easy to play the head because it's loud and has a lot of eq options I don't have the cab yet but I expect I will dig it. Also Peavey gear is tough as nails and the price is easy on my poor little wallet.

I have a Peavey Basic 60 bass amp. Pretty good little combo. It's been running like a champ since I first got it in late 1989 (was my first amp). Mostly has been used in the home, but I have jammed with a drummer a few times with it. I'm amazed how well it held up.

The only other Peavey item I've had was a 412 guitar/bass cabinet. I got it for $25. The guy just wanted to get rid of it. I think I sold it for $75. It had holes punched in two of the speakers, but still sounded wicked. heavy as heck, though.

I have a Foundation eBay frankenbass. The neck was pretty nice, but was on a red body that had some weird misalignment with the neck- like the bridge was offcenter or something. Couldn't figure it out. Bought this white body on eBay cheap, needed the output jack reversed to get rid of the buzz (maybe that's why it was parted out!!).

Now the two halves are nicely together and it is a nice bass.....and I put it together myself....

Hi all. I'm an occasional lurker, first time poster and big fan of Peavey bass gear.

My primary bass is a Millennium AC BXP and my number two is a Foundation. I too use a BAM 210 for amplification.

The Foundation is a 90s model with a poplar body, maple neck and fretboard and the Super Ferrite pups. I added a Hipshot Bass Extender. It's a great sounding bass and plays very nicely. It is a bit heavy and the balance could be slightly better.

The Millennium is darned near perfect. Superb feel, action and balance, very light and great sounding. It's an early 2000s model; agathis body with the quilt maple veneer. (The new ones are being advertised as basswood with a maple top by Musicians Friend, though I'm suspicious of that claim; basswood maybe, but could Peavey really move to a full quilt top and keep the prices as low as they are?)

Surprisinly the basses don't sound all that much different from each other if one pegs all the controls on the Foundation and sets the Millennium flat.

The BAM 210 is amazing. I love the versality, power, tone and simplicity of it. And with MF blowing them out at $599.00 (down from an original retail price of around $1200.00, they are a true steal.

Wonder, I checked your influences and I'm not sure we would similars idea of what would consitute a great bass sound but I will happily share my primary setting on the BAM.

I'm a heavy rock player and I like a deep, resonant chime tone from my rig. Think of Justin Chancellor's sound as the ideal. From the BAM I have been able to approximate that sound with some nods to (other favorite players) Steve Harris's clank and Geddy Lee's Moving Pictures era growl.

Here is what I use:

Amp Model: TVS
Cab Model: 8x10 (w/ the Tweeter added)
Pre Gain: 5
Low: 9
Mid: 3.5
Mid Shift: 2.25
High: 9.75
Post Gain 4.75
I almost always add a little bit of the flanger for depth, but sometime use chorus instead or just go dry.

Of course like all BAM players I am tempted by the tweaking beast, so all of this subject to change. ;)

I too would welcome setting from fellow BAM-heads especially if they can get me closer to that perfect balance of scary depth and cutting bell-tone.

Cheers.
