Appreciate your offer - I'll see how it sounds tomorrow night and then make my decision. Do you think that a lopsided cab could cause trouble down the road? Other than having my LMII slide off because of vibration that is?

A lopsided cab shouldn't give you trouble as far as tone. However, my concern is that if it looks that way on the inside, how much care was taken to ensure that its done up properly on the inside?
Really, you should send it back. Maybe if you tell Jorg that this is a real financial hardship for you he'll pay for, or at least, split the shipping.
Personally, there is no way I'd keep that cab in the form that it is.
That's a beautiful bass. Is that a shortscale? Was it expensive? Is it a custom build?
Well I just got a reply from Jorg - He says he will build me a new one if I don't like it tonight at the band practice.
Frankly, I'm very happy he agreed to build a new one. Only problem is extra shipping and Custom duties and I could barely afford the first one since I'm on a Disability Pension.
I will try it out tonight and if the head starts sliding off I'm definitely sending it back. But I need the new cab before I can send this one back since I have a gig coming up and need a cab.
It took me all summer to decide to buy a Schroeder, this is really bugging me. I was hoping that there would be no flaws on this cab. Well, I hope the new cab will be done right.

That was a problem with my 2 21012 lights,They wobbeled and when i stacked them,the bottom cab wobbeled on the floor and the top cabinet wobbeled on the bottom cab.when taking the grill off the cuts were very poor where the speakers fit in,I build furniture and do a lot of wood work for a living this woodworking would not make it out of our shop.When you hit e string with any force the cab makes noise,rattles and clicks. as much as these cost they need quality improvements.
Well, hope it works out for you. You should definitely get the cab replaced though. One aspect of this is resale value. It will be very hard to resell a poorly assembled cab, if you ever decide you need to. One of the factors I always consider when buying gear is how easy it will be to sell if required.

Contacted Jorg and asked him to build me a new one that is cut properly and squared. Hope to receive the new one before I send this one back. I told him I would pay for the Custom duty (tax) but not the shipping as it's not my fault this cab is not built right. Waiting to hear from him now.

I can't try it at home since I have people below and next door. This is really frustrating because I wanted to know if it sounds good before ordering a replacement. But if it's not square then it'll probably rattle at some point down the line and it'll be hard to resell it so it's going back.......

Maybe bring it into a rehearsal studio for an hour? It would be worth the $10 to me to find out.
I'll call Ralph and see if I can use one of his spaces for an hour, but I'm really busy packing the house right now as we're getting new flooring on Tuesday and Wednesday and have to pack everything away. Probably won't get to try it out properly till next Friday.

If you're looking for a custom made shortscale, you might consider Landing Basses. He does great work and his prices are very reasonable.
I just picked up a schroeder mini 12+. Love it!!! The only problem I'm having is there is a sympathetic frequency that is rattling sometimes. Not a big deal but I have to spend some time with it to work it out. Next cab is either going to be a 1210 or 1212..not sure yet....
Well I finally got to try my Mini 12+L last Friday at practice. Unfortunately we were given a different room than the one we usually play in. This room has bad acoustics and I'm not the only one to find that out about it. In any case, I couldn't get a decent tone from the Schro and LMII. That really surprised me as I've tried the LMII with a few other cabs and it sounded fantastic. The knobs were all flat at first with a little VPF and VLE. No tone, no life, no punch. I twiddled the knobs all night and it just didn't perform. I'm putting this one on the room acoustics. But I did find a buzz and rattle inside the cab don't know if this is sympathetic frequency or a loose nut or bolt in the cab but it really should be built strong enough to withstand the bass frequencies and vibrations.
This cab is definitely returning to Jorg (as he is making me a replacement). But I want to try it out in our regular room on Wednesday to find out if I should just get a refund and forget about Schro altogether. Really, the cab is lopsided & rattles inside and no template is obviously used to cut the wood. This is not worth $800 Cdn. But if the cab sounds good on Wednesday then I'll chance getting the replacement but it better be squared, have no rattles and sound good.

I'm hearing too many recent problems with Schroeder cabinets on this forum. I'm I wrong. I bought a 1212L+ more then a year back and it it beautiful. Lately I'm hearing about returns. Am I wrong? Are these statistical outliners? You know the business saying, quality or die.
I got the exact same cabinet at about the same time. I haven't gone over it in fine detail, but it sure looks solid to me. I've been using it regularly since I got it and no complaints at all. I haven't played enough gear to really know if this is THE cab for me tone wise or what, but it seems to sound good. The weight and size is easy to deal with. Realistically it's probably the last cab I'll ever buy unless it dies. Ever since I got it I have been gassing over a micro head though, as my current head weighs almost as much as the cab, and that just doesn't seem right =).
Just for the record Jorg has always been a stand up guy IME and has given excellent service. Every one of his cabs that I've experienced personally (about a half dozen) has been very well built. I think he might have some workers that are not pulling their weight and perhaps need to be let go.
