The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Ah, yeah, the 1989 Ibanez EXB404 I found last week, works as new.
I thought I might replace the pots & pickups, but before that, I tried cleaning out the electronics with some compressed air & contactspray.
All knobs are dead silent again.
She's good to go.

Some progress made today. I did a truss rod channel for the Warmoth. Cut an aged MOT control cover. I plan to make a wood one later. The Rosser black plastic one is fine though if you choose. Had some bird parts. A lead Gibson reading 8.45k and fresh pots , orange cap, the unusual knobs and so I also have a clear tbird pg. this is a Gibson fit part but it didn’t fit the Rosser. The end hit the knobs. So.. I reshaped and drilled it for a smaller space. Not sure if the Rosser is smaller or the knobs are just in a different spot but we did this. Not mounted, not sure but maybe. I’m super happy with this Rosser. Also he bumped the pickup north one inch as per my order request. Wonder what this is gonna sound like. With a Wenge neck.

Have you considered wooden knobs? I think wood would look really nice on that. Maybe something like these?Amazon.com
I have those exact knobs on here temporarily, they are decent quality.

T-birds are generally dark sounding, so depending on the cap used it could be dark-er sounding.

Nice! I'd like to try one of Pat's P/J's where the pu's are closer together than a standard P/J.
Me too, I’ve seen the video but never in person. This P. Version sounds amazing. It has DiMarzio’s in it now. I think they have been changed out. I do have the Original owners contact so he can confirm what’s been done to it. I don’t think it came that way.

Dark indeed but super cool. I dig it. This bass plays and sounds fantastic. It’s a nice flavor to have laying around. In fact this is my new practice bass. In the raw. Has 1 job ! It’s just under 10 lbs. and totally neck divy but that’s ok for this one.
I tracked it too last night. This is a test track so be advised lol. It’s the Fbird doing a loop on the main track with a echoplex vst. The other tracks are this bass into a boss sy1. Which I’m totally loving. So those sound like synth more than bass. Also testing the new to me EZ3 acoustic and electronic and elements. Its a super cool house bass but nothing will replace my feather weights for live.

It depends, I think Pat would accommodate a request for a different pu within reason.
