NBD for me! Relatively new to the bass. After disappointment with a Squier and Sterling bass (fit and finish and unexplainably, humbuckers that are noisy in my apartment in spite of all efforts tame including an expensive to me power conditioner) I went off the beaten path and bought a Sire U5 and love it! Then recently I decided I wanted to add a jazz bass. Sire V7 new Gen was my intent to purchase but it will be months before we see them in Alberta. My Sire dealer is also a Markbass dealer and highly recommended and had stock so he said trust me. Give it a try. So I did. And came home with a sunburst gv4 after playing and checking out reviews. OMG, I think I'm going to love it like my U5! Its perfect to me and surprisingly, in spite of active electronics and full vs short scale, 8lb. I'm not experienced enough to give a knowledgeable review but when I listened to LowEndLobster play it, thing like presence, dynamic, refined but able to be a beast if you like, full, versatile, and LOUD!, all came to mind. And I think its just beautiful to look at.

What are the specs of the precision? Looks a lot like my parts Precision I posted last week! Lovely looking tortoise guard.
Mjt alder body, musikraft maple cap veneer neck with 7.25” radius and 1.75” nut, also finished by mjt. Gotoh res o lites, lavaguards pickguard, and a real pre cbs 1958 pickup. String with VERY dead Olinto flats. Weighs in at 7.5 pounds, very well balanced.
The pickup is really even for being almost 70 years old.
I must add, that since it’s so light it’s my number one gigging bass. The neck is so wide yet thin, I adjust the truss maybe once a year. It’s had beer spilled on it, rained on, dinged dropped. I end every show by hitting the headstock against the drummers cymbals. It can take anything I throw at it.
What kind of neck is it? Or P bass version?
I'm interested in think P bass necks front to back but hard to nail down which line offers them.

Yes sir. I was fortunate enough for him to do a few (4). Such a nice guy. That one is an AO50s with 5% overwound Fralins.
this is my holy trinity: a 2008 Godin shifter classic (Canadian), a 2012 Fender Jazz bass deluxe (usa) in cherry sunburst and a 2010 Music Man Stingray classic (USA). can't choose, use them all equally.
Took a while to get here due to the winter weather but— this might be my new favorite. It’s been said but the bridge / middle pickups in series/active is next level good. I’m shook
The Sire M6 sounds great, and it’s just under 8 lbs. The string retainer on the headpiece could benefit from a less “intrusive” design because it can get in the way of playing notes on the first fret of both the B and E strings.
