The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I think I have both P and J covered, 1978 FujiGen Ibanez silver series and a 60's Roadworn Fender Jazz. Both with Flats and foam mutes and near equal mojo. Thinking of getting a dark tort pick gaurd for the P bass, will any of them online work with a little finess mostly?

You should post that Ibanez P in the Black N' Maple Club. It's a beauty https://www.talkbass.com/threads/the-official-black-n-maple-club-part-four.928117/page-129

That neck-to-body transition looks smoooooooth
Thanks for noticing! :) I started doing that a number of years ago on my custom basses. The squared-off neck-pocket of a traditional Fender bass was functionally efficient but lacked design finesse. Fender later did a scalloped neck ledge, and others did something which differed in one way or the other (for a bolt-on) but I figured why not make that transition more flowing. I've filed/sanded the neck heal to conform with the platform also.

i have a older MIM Jazz that is a good weight, has an awesome neck, etc but I have other Jazz Basses already….

I also had a set of Thunderbird pickups….

A little Marvin Gaye on the radio, some raw oysters, and some Hai Karate cologne, and this is what happened !!!

Yes!!! I just did this to a P bass and am so in love with it. I have a Jazz bass body laying around that I am debating on doing the same to so I have one with flats and one with rounds.

Just finished this build. Found this cheap Jackson JS1M at a pawn shop for $100. It needed some love. In the process of cleaning it up I stumbled upon some some double P builds. I’ve been a fan of Entwhistle for a long time, so reversing the bridge P seemed like a logical choice.

Whipped out the router, made a hole and wired up another P bass I had laying around. Wired up controls as a master volume and a blend knob.

Wasn’t a huge fan of all the black hardware (just not my thing), so I got a chrome bridge and tuners. I also painted the pickup covers because I liked the idea of some cream Dimarzio pickups, but they aren’t in the budget right now.

Not entirely sure about the color, but I am really enjoying the bass so far.

Future plans are possibly getting an LHZ Hazlab preamp.

Now I just need a band to play this with. 😂
