Just finished this build. Found this cheap Jackson JS1M at a pawn shop for $100. It needed some love. In the process of cleaning it up I stumbled upon some some double P builds. I’ve been a fan of Entwhistle for a long time, so reversing the bridge P seemed like a logical choice.

Whipped out the router, made a hole and wired up another P bass I had laying around. Wired up controls as a master volume and a blend knob.

Wasn’t a huge fan of all the black hardware (just not my thing), so I got a chrome bridge and tuners. I also painted the pickup covers because I liked the idea of some cream Dimarzio pickups, but they aren’t in the budget right now.

Not entirely sure about the color, but I am really enjoying the bass so far.

Future plans are possibly getting an LHZ Hazlab preamp.

Now I just need a band to play this with.

I like what you did with the shark tooth inlays, looks great! That was my favorite feature of my old Rick 4001.

Very nice… Ive always liked the sound of a reverse P, and it definitely makes sense to reverse the P pickup when it’s in the bridge position.

i have a older MIM Jazz that is a good weight, has an awesome neck, etc but I have other Jazz Basses already….

I also had a set of Thunderbird pickups….

A little Marvin Gaye on the radio, some raw oysters, and some Hai Karate cologne, and this is what happened !!!

This thing has been a lot of fun, easy to wear, and comfortable to play. I got it from Sweetwater a couple of months ago, after a somewhat lengthy hiatus from bass playing. It's nice to be back.

Very nice! I only play 4's but if I ever attempted a fretless 6 I'd want lines like that one has. Otherwise pretty hard to keep things aligned. Nice color and finish too.

I had an unlined Alembic Orion 5-string that I wanted to love but just never got comfortable with. With the MTD it was immediate, just couldn’t be happier.

Just added Labella 49-109's and Fender American 62 original tort pickgaurd. Everything else all original to 1978..Fuji Gen factory!

My 1982 Fender Standard Jazz Bass , Fullerton tweed case with all original paperwork/accessories still intact . Had one of these back in ‘83 and foolishly sold it the following year . Took several decades to find another matching one in mint condition as it features white pickups/guard/controls/binding and Pearl blocks which were only made for one year . Opening up the case every time takes me back to being seventeen , the power of nostalgia is strong .

Put this one together earlier today- 2021 made in China Classic Vibe body + 2007 Duff neck. I love this!

Also finally got to A/B my Stingrays and it’s official— they all sound great lol

Turned out that the 2010 Stingray I just got and shared here earlier needed a new battery compartment upon its arrival because whoever left it in storage also left the battery in it & it had corroded pretty badly.

Seller was unaware, oddly enough the bass was still passing signal but at a super low volume. We worked it all out and I was even partially refunded for getting it back up and running easy peasy. It was already a bargain so I’m cool with how things worked out!

Being the impatient person that I am, I ended up simply cutting the battery snap out of my Boss Waza TU-3W tuner (it lives on my powered pedalboard) and soldered it in as a permanent replacement. I snagged a chrome battery cover from the EBMM online parts store and here we are.

Picked up a Vintera II Bass VI, and it's a great instrument. Well made, with smooth fret work and and an easy playing neck. Balanced, and well set up. Nice dark rosewood, and a great maple grain, very nice detailing.

This is really fun to play and sounds massive! Been using psychedelic rigs in Amplitube, and it does fuzz, drive, and various modulation and spring Reverb just goes so well here. Rich tones, with a lot of variation with pickup combos and the strangle switch, with is pretty useful on this instrument.

Really looking forward to incorporating this into my writing process- it seems likely to be a great tool and a fun option in arrangement! Great NGD!
