That must be one of the first to (finally) be delivered - so I'm curious as this is the closest thing to a gen1 Gibson T-bird RI (which has never been made) ... are the wings tapered? (tapered toward the outside from the center) I see the jack side-mount also - at least they got the wider bridge on there. Looks good otherwise - how does it sound?

My 2003 Fender American Standard P Bass. Bought new in 2004, completely remodeled in the past week and a half.

Replaced the chrome hardware with all new gold hardware and completely stripped all of the paint off and dyed bright red, then lacquered to show off the subtle grain of the alder wood.

Hope it plays as good as it looks! I pick up my new used RED MIM J-bass from layaway at GC tomorrow and I'm getting nervous. My $30 DIY old Ibby is a fix-or-repair-daily so I need it. Hope it works, played it at GC but 'tin' ear so *** do I know (crosses fingers).
I love me some red bass guitars...and blue ones, and blonde ones, and seafoam green ones, and...
3-month baby bassman on A minor scale in Fastrac Hall Leonard, lurking in the Ed Friedland HL Bass Method thread.

A lot of pre-cbs stuff was super cheap until the late 90's. I had a 65 Candy apple red p-bass I got for 950. the 56 p-bass in the pic 2500, but it's all worth 10X that now. I was literally telling my accountant brother to forget stocks and buy old fenders. They thought I was a dumb bass player. when I sold a large part of my collection, I took a big chunk of my mortgage so I really didn't lose anything. A big mistake was passing on the Jazz Basses with matching head stocks.
