I have the same one, plus the Exotica Quilt Ash trans black fretless. Does your have the Aphex? I love 'em. Have 'em both out and ready all the time.

Yes it does have the Aphex..... I'm very surprised at and happy with the sounds that come from the Aphex switch.... Scared me the first time I flipped the toggle then made a quick deliberate thump on the E string. My Rumble 100 responded with a thundering boom that blew the cat's mind.

Out and ready.....I have the Fender Rumble 100 too!

So many are quick to poo-poo Dean. They make some nice stuff and admittedly make some garbage as well. The A/E with Aphex is one of the best kept secrets. They no longer sell them with the Aphex as they were (Aphex) bought out. All the newer ones have a Dean preamp that just doesn't match it.

Can't believe I scored this one for $200 and it came with a quality hard case to boot. Anyone that poo poo's this model.... IMHO has never played this model. I can't speak for the rest of Dean's stuff but I played one of the DBZ Barchettas (also made by Dean Zelenski *SP*) and it was definitely worthy of being singled out in Rush's "Red Barchetta". It is exactly what I had hoped for..... Actually it was much more than I expected.... I almost feel guilty..... Emphasis on almost.... LOL!!!

My three babies. Real 1963 P Bass (all original except refinished body), 2000 Duesenberg Star-Bass, 1983 MM StingRay. The '63 is my holy grail. The 1983 is my birth year bass. The Duesenberg is just cool. The last two are on the market because the P Bass is just soooo good.

Looks like you've modded your Blacktop a bit. What do the switches do?

The switches tap the coils on the twin humbuckers. Each three way switch allows a pick up to do series, parallel and single coil. Plus I added a Stellartone duo six tone pot. It is also fully shielded.

Started playing in oct. Bought the ibanez gsr200 at a pawnshop. It's older, passive setup. Bought the Squier Jazz bass added a black pickguard. I love it. It's got punch.
