Brand new here so be nice. 
Just bought a 2015 Fender American Standard P Bass and Rumble 100 amp. This was a special order by the original owner in that it features a from the factory Fender drop tuner and push button volume control that either boosts or cuts the frequencies. First time trying bass after years on guitar and violin. Excited to be here!

Welcome! I'm also new here. That's a pretty P Bass. I recently bought that Rumble 100 combo too, and I have to say I'm loving that thing. It's gigging with me tonight
Here is my current crop o' basses. I have to say, even though there's nothing fancy, I'm really happy with what I have right now.
From L to R:
Performance/Fender with Chromes and EMG Geezers, MIM Fender Precision with TI flats, Hohner The Jack with GHS SS, German Warwick $$, and Ibanez TMB 600. The last two are strung up with Fodera Nickels, .40-.100.
All are set-up with low action and play and sound wonderful.

They are my favourite strings I've ever used and they're more important to me than the bass or amp I'm playing through. I can set my action lower with these without buzz and playability is better than any other strings I've tried and I've tried most of them over the years. The tone has a stronger fundamental with less overtones, which I feel really aids in clarity. I really can't say enough things about them and I hope they never stop making these strings.

Interesting. Does the nickel give a higher tension or what allows the low action? I'm about to order some to try as I also like really low action.
I honestly couldn't tell you why I'm able to get the action so low, but I don't think it's the Nickel plating. I'm guessing it has something to do with core design and overall quality of the strings.

My personal opinion is the Fodera strings are really great.... similar to the way everything Fodera does..... quality through and through.
Buy a pair and try them .... they’re expensev ($37 a set) I think....: but well worth trying.

Yesterday morning I read a thread in the Rick owners club TB forum about a 4003 SPC “Blackstar” bass for sale in Connecticut.
I reached out to the seller and met up with him this morning and after a long and stressful deliberation (about 3.5 minutes) as to why the hell do I need another bass?! I paid the man, put her in my Jeep and brought her home....
#89 of a limited, one time run of just 200 made....

New to me 1971 Fender Precision. My birth year. A profile neck, so it has a jazz width nut. This thing has been played and played and I can feel and hear why. It must have some stories to tell if it could talk. The original/main owner obviously always played with a ring on, the underside of the neck is nicely rolled up to around the 9th fret, obviously wore a belt too. Looking forward to gigging with this on Sunday.

Super nice - yes, a bass well played/well worn is always a good sign that it sounds/plays great. Pristine vintage basses have been either ignored or babied - I'll play ones that have dents, scratches, scars - and stories other than sitting under a bed or being polished.Post your new bass over on my related thread: SHOW YOUR DISTRESSED FINISHES! - it'll be right at home!
