Someone help me identify my new(ish) bass! Is this the best forum to ask this?


Hey everyone, about two months ago I bought this bass from a cool used gear/repair shop. It’s obviously a custom bass and the craftsmanship is just gorgeous...the guy I bought it from noticed it has some similar traits to alembics...the oval inlays on the fingerboard, the through-neck style, and small layer of what seems like ebony in between layers of wood on the body in the last picture in the album I linked. it also has a PRS style headstock. I would really love if anyone has any tips on how to help me identify where it came from! The guy I bought it from said he got it from a guy from Baltimore who also didn’t know where it came from. The thing plays like an absolute dream. Already posted on Reddit, it would be pretty cool if someone recognized it by chance. Thanks everyone

Hmmmm PRS is based *near* Baltimore and they did produce basses from time to time...

I recently sold my last Fender J, but if you look closer, you will see an Ibanez Musician that is a J technically, and the Kawai has a switch that makes it a J as well.
