The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Here's my current bass collection... I picked up a couple of these bad boys and a bunch of guitars in the past year.

1) 2017 Ernie Ball Music Man 4HH Neck-Through in Glacial Frost w/ Ebony fretboard. I've yet to find another in this color; it looks like they only used it on the Petrucci Majesty guitars. Really sparkly white that covers the back of the neck and headstock, too. Wish the pics didn't always look so yellow. It actually looks like snow in person.

2)Warwick 2005 Hot Rod Corvette Limited edition. This is the most fun bass playing bass that I have. It is super fast and active; great for slapping, tapping, and laying back in the groove. Very easy neck. I don't use it as often as the Ernie Balls, though, doesn't sit as thick in the mix; great for showing off! Mostly stock, replaced tuners for light weight Hipshot.

3) Fender Precision 2019 Vintera - Monstered out. My first project bass. I liked the shape of the neck and tone, but not much else. Replaced tuners with black Gotoh vintage style reverse to eliminate neck dive, replaced bridge with Hipshot KickAss bridge to set better action, blacked out all hardware, swapped pickguard then vinyl wrapped it, and lightly sanded the sticky finish off of the back of the neck to a satin feel.

4) 1996 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 4 - my #1 utilitarian bass. I play this at most gigs and recordings. Sounds ridiculously thick and extremely versatile. This thing is mostly stock, besides a swap out of the chip on the pre-amp. I've been steady touring with this bass for 25 years...and it shows! Chewed up and nasty, just the way that I love it.

Man, where did you find a Warwick with grain figuring that nice!

I've almost never seen Warwick use maple that highly figured.

Samick NS2A copy from late 80s? Early 90s? Can’t find a lot of info on it, snatched it up for 280$ and it plays beautifully.
I will definitely switch out the pickups for dimarzio’s and grab a set of ultralite tuning pegs if I come across a good deal.

How do you like the Lightwave?

It has a very unusual voice. I accent that with white tape-wound strings. I use it primarily in quieter like acoustic settings. It can sound acoustic quite nicely, but with more aggressive strings it can get tougher sounding.
Build-wise it’s awesome.

My pawn shop special Squier Affinity PJ that I have $40 in. Plays and sounds superb. My latest edition is a Toby Deluxe IV that was added this past Thursday. Definitely appears to be a closet queen. Serial number says it was made in 2015. Absolutely can't find a ding, dent or scratch anywhere on it. Doesn't appear to have any of the electrical problems that some Toby's have. Sounds and plays great. I think it is a keeper.

Amazing! I didn't expect anything bad because I love the GZRs but they work really well here. Lots of growl with the P and mwah with the PJ. I've not heard a fretless I like more than mine to be honest. I don't have a bad thing to say. Lots of mids, clarity on the top-end with these ~4 year old Fender flats, and even in PJ mode there's a nice hefty low end.

Fingers? Of course! Pick? Sure, why not add some OD and go full rock'n roll! Slap? Yeah, it slaps.

Still clearing off all the excess epoxy before moving forward with the sanding/final coats but it's starting to look like a bass again!

I have a fretless with EMGs also and I think it’s my fav fretless sound.
