Travis Bean, looks like it's likely a TB2000 but I don't know them well enough to be 100% sure of that.
Yup. Pretty rare I'd think. Average 6k resale.
Had a chance to buy one in New Orleans for $2,000. Too much bread for a college student in '78.

It is the most balanced one in sound. It all depends on the choice of strings. Currently D’ADDARIO. The sound of the LX 5 is very hi-fi and clear. With a Darkglass Alpha Omega you can get a good metal definition. If ur looking for the real Alice In Chains Spector tone, you have to go with the LX 4. The LT 4 is more versatile and round and good for any genre, because u have that mid range option. At the end you have to check them out in your local Music Store. But you might end up getting them all like it happened to me.

I took a chance and bought a china bass. Wasn't sure if I'd get kindling or a playable bass.
The build looked ok:
The final product was better than the ad
What I got.
it plays good. The neck pocket is tight, the action is low, (need to smooth the fret ends and replace the pickups, and Need to play it for a while to make sure it stays in tune), but I think I won the Lotto for $450 shipped on a hand made bass.
PS: Asked not to get the pickgaurd on the bass, but as an included piece in case I decided to add it later

People are always talk s**t on Chinese brand basses , especially copycat basses .
I know of 5 or 6 that make a copy bass to 97% of original factory specs .
I don't consider that a copycat bass.
But it does open the door for shady people/theives
to buy a $400 copycat of an "original bass" costing thousands and thousands of dollars
Just to sell it online or not as the very expensive original Bass .
Personally I couldn't care less where a bass is made
To be really honest basses that are manufactured in any Asian countries
They have something , most working people in the U.S.A. have put to rest.

I played a specter ns95 in a thrash heavy band
Personally I wouldn't go for a "newer SPECTOR model,
My 5 str. NS-95 was simply a better bass in every way for the money.
Newer Spector basses in my opinion are
overpriced , overrated , not as well made , and most of the newer body styles ?
Not for me.
I'll take a pre 2001 SpEcToR NS series 5 string
For a few hundred

Again , just my opinion.
Backed up with Bass experience.
every piece/part of a bass can be changed or UPGRADED.
